  • Patent number: 5931071
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting the peripheral portion of a film projecting from the peripheral edge of a laminated glass plate having the film sandwiched between a pair of glass plates has a robot arm and a robot hand connected to the the robot arm. The robot hand has a releasable cutting blade, a device for biasing the cutting blade against the peripheral edge of a laminated glass plate, a device for biasing the cutting blade away from the peripheral edge of the laminated glass plate when the resistance force acting on the cutting edge of the cutting blade becomes larger than a predetermined level, and a device for biasing the cutting blade close to the peripheral edge of the laminated glass plate.

  • Patent number: 5916343
Abstract: A thermo-shrinking film cutting mechanism used in a labeling machine, including a plurality of cutter units mounted on locating frames and equiangularly spaced around a center guide shaft, each cutter unit including a crank shaft, axle bearings, a coupling plate, an index plate, a locating plate, a cutter holder, a cutter blade and a clamping plate, a transmission mechanism driven to rotate said cutter units, causing said cutter units to cut a thermo-shrinking film, the transmission mechanism including a transmission disk having a plurality of receiving holes, which hold a respective axle bearing, which supports the eccentric upper section of one crank shaft, enabling the crank shafts of the cutter units to be rotated synchronously when the crank shaft of one cutter unit is rotated by a transmission belt through a transmission wheel, the cutter holder being slidably mounted in a transverse bottom groove on the locating plate and fixed in place by an adjustment screw to hold the respective cutter blade at the

  • Patent number: 5909929
Abstract: A middle cutter of a shaver includes a comb, comb mounts, a cutter, a cutter mount, a pair of spring plates, and a pair of steel balls for holding the cutter mount in a floating manner. The comb has an upper surface that includes a plurality of isolated openings. Each comb mount includes a retaining groove that retains the spring plates. The cutter, which includes a plurality of cutting grooves, is arranged in tight contact with an inner surface of the comb, such that the cutting grooves act with the comb openings to providing the shaving action. The steel balls are movably received on the spring plates such that upper portions of the steel balls are biased against the cutter mount by the spring plates so that the cutter mount is held in a balanced manner and maintains tight contact between the cutter and the comb.

  • Patent number: 5896801
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting a food product is disclosed which utilizes a cutting wheel having a plurality of knives extending between a hub and a rim in conjunction with other cutting knives to produce a multi-dimensional cut of the food product. The use of the additional cutting knives enables the apparatus to dice a thin layered or leafy food product (cut it into small pieces) as opposed to merely slicing the food product in a single dimensional cut. The additional cutting knives may include one or more julienne knives attached to each of the knives of the cutting wheel so as to extend approximately at right angles to the cutting plane defined by the cutting wheel knives. A circular knife may be located upstream of the cutting plane defined by the cutting wheel such that the rotary knife longitudinally cuts the food product before it passes through the cutting plane. The apparatus according to the invention also utilizes separate drive motors for the feed conveyor and for the cutting wheel.

  • Patent number: 5890411
Abstract: A power transmitting structure for a band saw includes a first and a second shaft, and each of the two shafts has a plurality of gears engaged with each other so as to transmit a power of a motor with several sets of speed options. Each of the gears freely mounted to the second shaft has a notch defined in an inner periphery defining a central hole thereof. The second shaft has a third shaft movably received therein which is controlled by a control member connected to a knob. The third shaft has a pawl member pivotally disposed thereto in the second shaft which has a slot defined through a peripheral wall thereof so that the pawl member is selectably engaged with one of the notches. The second shaft has a toothed portion to engage with a rotating part to which a band saw member is connected.
