Abstract: A display method and a display device of dynamically controlling backlight are provided. The present disclosure obtains a modified grayscale value of the input image in each of partitions by using the whole backlight reference value, the RGBW grayscale values of the input image in each of partitions, the normalized backlight output brightness value, and the spatial distribution function of the backlight brightness in each of partitions. The normalized backlight output brightness value of each of partitions is processed as a real backlight output brightness value which is outputted to a backlight driving circuit. The modified grayscale value is processed as a real grayscale value and then the real grayscale value is outputted to a display panel for display. The backlight and image grayscale of each of partitions are adjusted dynamically, thereby improving contrast space and power consumption and further, normally displaying the HDR contents in the HDR display.

Abstract: A patient support apparatus, such as a bed, stretcher, cot, operating table, chair, or the like, includes a support surface for an occupant, a user interface, and a control system. The user interface includes multiple sensing layers to detect when a user touches the user interface. The control system activates only a first one of the sensing layers when the patient support apparatus is in a sleep mode, and upon the first sensing layer detecting a user touching the user interface while in the sleep mode, the control system activates that second sensing layer. One of the sensing layers may be resistive and the other capacitive. One of the layers may also detect a position at which the user touches the user interface, while the other layer may only detect that the user interface was touched, but not detect the position of the touch.

  • Patent number: 10437460
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for a map tool on a mobile device for implementing cartographically aware gestures directed to a map view of a map region. The map tool may base a cartographically aware gesture on an actual gesture input directed to a map view and based on map data for the map region that may include metadata corresponding to elements within the map region. The map tool may then determine, based on one or more elements of the map data, a modification to be applied to an implementation to the gesture. Given the modification to the gesture implementation, the map tool may then render, based on performing the modification to the gesture, an updated map view instead of an updated map view based solely on the user gesture.

  • Patent number: 10319319
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a substrate and a liquid crystal display. The substrate includes a plurality of data lines, scanning lines, and pixel cells arranged in a matrix. Each of the pixel cells includes a first sub-pixel and a second sub-pixel. For the pixel cells in each row, a first sub-pixel of a pixel cell connects with the two scanning lines. The second sub-pixel of the pixel cell connects with one of the scanning line. When the pixel cells are driven, durations of the turn-on signals outputted by the two scanning lines connected with the pixel cell are different or the turn-on signals are asynchronous. As such, a turn-on period of the second sub-pixel of the pixel cell connecting with the data line is longer than the turn-on period of the first sub-pixel connecting with the corresponding data line. In this way, the color shift may be reduced.

  • Patent number: 10304399
Abstract: A circuit is provided which is constituted by TFTs of one conductivity type, and which is capable of outputting signals of a normal amplitude. When an input clock signal CK1 becomes a high level, each of TFTs (101, 103) is turned on to settle at a low level the potential at a signal output section (Out). A pulse is then input to a signal input section (In) and becomes high level. The gate potential of TFT (102) is increased to (VDD?V thN) and the gate is floated. TFT (102) is thus turned on. Then CK1 becomes low level and each of TFTs (101, 103) is turned off. Simultaneously, CK3 becomes high level and the potential at the signal output section is increased. Simultaneously, the potential at the gate of TFT (102) is increased to a level equal to or higher than (VDD+V thN) by the function of capacitor (104), so that the high level appearing at the signal output section (Out) becomes equal to VDD.
