  • Patent number: 11574102
Abstract: A parameter estimation apparatus of an embodiment of the present invention is provided with a model reduction processor and a parameter estimator. The model reduction processor generates reduced order models by reducing order of a simulation model on the basis of measurement data sets and conditions for model order reduction possibility. The parameter estimator estimates values of parameters of the reduced order models on the basis of the reduced order models and the measurement data sets corresponding to the reduced order models. Further, after estimating a first value for a first parameter of a first reduced order model based on a first measurement data set, the parameter estimator applies the first value to the first parameter of a second reduced order model based on a second measurement data set.

  • Patent number: 11506804
Abstract: In a first step, a defined scope value is selected for each of a plurality of hydrodynamic input parameters. A simulated topographical result is generated using the selected scope values and a forward model. A detailed seismic interpretation is generated to represent specific seismic features or observed topography. A calculated a misfit value representing a distance between the simulated topographical result and a detailed seismic interpretation is minimized. An estimated optimized sand ratio and optimized hydrodynamic input parameters are generated. In a second step, a genetic algorithm is used to determine a proportion of each grain size in the estimated optimized sand ratio. A misfit value is used that is calculated from thickness and porosity data extracted from well data and a simulation result generated by the forward model to generate optimized components of different grain sizes. Optimized hydrodynamic input parameters and optimized components of different grain sizes are generated.

  • Patent number: 11494530
Abstract: One example includes a method for generating a solar farm design. Geographic map data defines geographic features and boundaries of a geographic region. Each of the virtual solar panel block types corresponds to a design of a respective solar panel block that includes solar panels, an inverter, and an access road, and each virtual solar panel block type includes predetermined dimensions and a predefined output power rating. An array of a virtual solar panel block type to fit within the geographic features and boundaries of the geographic region on the map is generated based on the dimensions of each of the virtual solar panel blocks in the array. The array is iteratively modified to optimize a criterion of the solar farm design, and the design is stored in a memory for subsequent solar farm installation.

  • Patent number: 11481619
Abstract: Techniques for incorporating a black-box function into a neural network are described. For example, an image editing function may be the black-box function and may be wrapped into a layer of the neural network. A set of parameters and a source image are provided to the black-box function, and the output image that represents the source image with the set of parameters applied to the source image is output from the black-box function. To address the issue that the black-box function may not be differentiable, a loss optimization may calculate the gradients of the function using, for example, a finite differences calculation, and the gradients are used to train the neural network to ensure the output image is representative of an expected ground truth image.
