  • Patent number: 11653251
Abstract: A packet forwarding method to shorten a transmission latency of an elephant flow is provided. In the method, for a first packet flow used as an elephant flow, a network device may receive a plurality of packets of the first packet flow, and determine a characteristic parameter of the first packet flow based on the plurality of packets, where the characteristic parameter of the first packet flow is used to indicate a transmission latency of the first packet flow. After determining the characteristic parameter of the first packet flow, the network device determines a forwarding policy of the first packet flow based on the characteristic parameter of the first packet flow. The forwarding policy of the first packet flow is used to indicate latency sensitivity of the first packet flow.

  • Patent number: 11647390
Abstract: This application discloses an information exchange method and apparatus. In the method, a terminal device transmits attach request information to a core network device, receives attach accept information of the core network device, where the attach accept information includes a first integrity check code; the terminal device obtains a second integrity check code based on the attach accept information; and the terminal device obtains, if the first integrity check code is the same as the second integrity check code, a third integrity check code based on encrypted attach complete information, and transmits encrypted attach complete information to which the third integrity check code is added to the core network device. This reduces data exchange procedures, reduces an amount of data of exchanged information, and reduces a time consumed in an information exchange process performed between the terminal device and the core network device.

  • Patent number: 11647459
Abstract: The described techniques provide for the identification and utilization of different power consumption categories by a user equipment (UE) in wireless communications system. A power consumption category may correspond to a power consumption level (e.g., a powered circuitry configuration) of the UE. For example, a power consumption category may configure an analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) resolution, a digital-to-analog conversion (DAC) resolution, a number of antennas, etc., that a UE may employ for communications. In some examples, a UE may report capability information to a base station, and the base station may use the information to explicitly or implicitly (e.g., via conveying thresholds or conditions to the UE for power consumption category switching or power consumption category selection) configure the UE with various power consumption categories. As such, the power consumption categories may be used by the base station and UE, in some scenarios, for reducing power consumption.

  • Patent number: 11647420
Abstract: In some embodiments, a wireless device (e.g., a cell phone) has a transceiver, a processor, and a memory. The processor store periodic downlink (DL) data received from the transceiver in a periodic DL buffer in the memory, aperiodic DL data received from the transceiver in an aperiodic DL buffer in the memory, periodic uplink (UL) data in a periodic UL buffer in the memory, and aperiodic UL data in an aperiodic UL buffer in the memory. The processor determines in what order to handle the stored data in the periodic and aperiodic DL and UL buffers and handles the stored data in the determined order.

  • Patent number: 11641323
Abstract: Examples herein describe an acceleration framework that includes a hybrid congestion control (CC) engine where some components are implemented in software (e.g., a CC algorithm) while other components are implemented in hardware (e.g., measurement and enforcement modules and a flexible processing unit). The hardware components can be designed to provide measurements that can be used by multiple different types of CC algorithms. Depending on which CC algorithms are currently enabled, the hardware components can be programmed to perform measurement, processing, and enforcement tasks, thereby freeing the CPUs in the host to perform other tasks. In this manner, the hybrid CC engine can have the flexibility of a pure software CC algorithm with the advantage of performing many of the operations associated with the CC algorithm in hardware.

  • Patent number: 11632296
Abstract: In general, techniques are described for signaling IP path tunnels for traffic engineering using constraints in an IP network. For example, network devices, e.g., routers, of an IP network may compute an IP path using constraint information and establish the IP path using, for example, Resource Reservation Protocol, to signal the IP path without using MPLS. As one example, the egress router generates a path reservation signaling message that includes an egress IP address that is assigned for use by the routers on the IP path to send traffic of the data flow by encapsulating the traffic with the egress IP address and forwarding toward the egress router. As each router in the IP path receives the path reservation signaling message, the router configures a forwarding state to forward traffic encapsulated with the egress IP address to a next hop along the IP path toward the egress router.

  • Patent number: 11627088
Abstract: A computer software application running on a wireless communication device determines whether an application scenario is urgent or nonurgent, and determines whether the user state is interest, uninterested or absent. The application sends the application scenario and the user state to a wireless networking device. The wireless networking device determines the user roles of different wireless communication devices. It further adjusts priorities of data packets destined to the wireless communication device based on the application scenario, the user state and the user role when downlink to the wireless communication device is congested. The priority is decreased when the application scenario is unurgent, the user role is a listener, and the user state is uninterested or absent.
