  • Patent number: 6131827
Abstract: In a method for manufacturing a nozzle hole plate suitable for use in a fuel injection valve, a nozzle hole is formed at a predetermined angle of inclination by press-working with a punch in a thin-plate base material of a nozzle hole plate. When the nozzle hole is formed by press-working, a bluntness (shear drop) and a break face are formed at the corners of the base material at the fluid entrance and the fluid exit of the nozzle hole respectively, and as a result of the formation of this shear drop and break face the flow changes and the injection quantity increases. The injection quantity of the nozzle hole is measured for each nozzle hole plate, and its deviation from a target value is detected. Then, on the basis of the measured injection quantity value, the base material around the fluid entrance of the nozzle hole is notched by press-working using a punch. The material of the base material dimpled by the notching is pushed toward the fluid entrance of the nozzle hole and the shear drop diminishes.

  • Patent number: 6129290
Abstract: A snowmaker is comprised of a head which has an outer ring of nozzles which form a flow of primary water into droplets which move downstream preferably along paths running at a slight radially outward angle, together with a central nucleator which discharges frozen nuclei particles outwardly from a plurality of atomizers at the downstream end cap end of the nucleator. The nucleator is readily disconnectable from the ring. Secondary water flow is fed to the nucleator so it swirls at high velocity within, to greatly enhance the warming effect of the water on the nucleator parts, and to thereby inhibit accumulation of exterior ice. The secondary water is mixed with compressed air as they both enter the atomizers of the end cap. A resultant flow of nuclei from the atomizers is discharged so the flow merges with the plume of primary water droplets from the nozzle. Preferably, flat spray nozzles are used.

  • Patent number: 6129153
Abstract: A water spraying control unit includes a fire extinguishing sprinkler head. The sprinkler head receives a branch pipe from a pipe line arranged in the ceiling of a building and the sprinkler head suppresses fire by discharging pressured water due to separation of a heat sensing plate and a nut supporting plate from the sprinkler head during a fire. A water spraying plate is joined with a water spraying plate bolt. The water spraying plate bolt is able to move through a through hole of a protruding portion in the outside of the sprinkler head. During a fire, the heat sensing plate and the nut supporting plate melt, enabling the water spraying plate to move downwardly thus opening a path for the pressurized water, the water spraying plate spraying the water over a wide area. Thus, a sprinkler head stored in the ceiling of a building is able to lower itself when actuated and spray water over a large area.
