  • Patent number: 12241242
Abstract: A combination plumbing trap and vent assembly for retrofitting existing sink installations is disclosed. The assembly includes a J-bend pipe with an inlet for attachment to a sink and an outlet, a T-pipe with an inlet arm connected to the J-bend outlet, a valve arm, and an outlet arm for connection to a drain, and an air admittance valve (AAV) attached to the valve arm. The AAV allows air to enter the system when negative pressure develops, maintaining proper drainage without extensive modifications to existing structures. This assembly provides an effective solution for slow-draining sinks and compliance with modern plumbing codes, particularly in situations where traditional venting methods are impractical or cost-prohibitive.

  • Patent number: 12222039
Abstract: Apparatuses for controlling fluid flow are important components for delivering process fluids for semiconductor fabrication. These apparatuses for controlling fluid flow frequently rely on valves which can provide flows at different rates and in a minimally turbulent manner. In one embodiment, a valve assembly is disclosed, the valve assembly having a valve body, a closure member, a seat, and a radial flow guide. The radial flow guide has a plurality of flow passages. The closure member has a needle, the needle having a plurality of grooves therein. The resulting valve assembly enables improved control of fluid and reduces turbulence in the resultant flow.

  • Patent number: 12196341
Abstract: A closure member is configured for use in a valve. These configurations may include a plug with grooves or “flutes” that extend along its length. Inserts in the flutes may comprise materials, like ceramics, that are different than the material that forms the core or base portion of the plug. These inserts are useful to slow erosion of the device, particularly in the flutes, which form an outwardly-facing surface that is subject to high velocity flow in the valve. This feature can extend service life of the plug, particularly in highly-erosive process fluids, like particle-entrained fluids commonly found in hydrocracking or refining operations.
