  • Patent number: 8251806
Abstract: A player is permitted to participate in an interactive gaming event from a remote location, such as a hotel room or home computer, once the player's entitlement to participate has been confirmed using a biometric identifier. One method of the invention includes first verifying the identity of a potential player of a gaming event, such as by verifying the age of the player. If verified, the fingerprint of the player is obtained and the fingerprint is stored in association with an assigned identification code. When a player requests to participate in a gaming event from a remote location, the player's identification code is received from the player and is used to locate the corresponding stored fingerprint. The player then transmits their scanned fingerprint. If the transmitted fingerprint and stored fingerprint match, the player is verified as entitled to participate in the gaming event.

  • Patent number: 8191897
Abstract: A card game based on the well-known game of Pai Gow Poker is played with five cards which players arrange into a three-card hand and a two-card hand. The three-card hand includes slightly modified poker rankings. In order to win a primary wager, the player's three-card hand and two-card hand must beat the dealer's corresponding three-card hand and two-card hand. Additionally, players may place an independent secondary wager that is related to the poker ranking of the five cards received by the player or the relationship between the two-card hand and three-card hand. A preestablished pay table defines the secondary wager winning combinations and corresponding payouts. A bad beat jackpot is also an option. With only five cards to deal and arrange, the embodiments of the disclosed game are played faster than Pai Gow Poker thereby increasing the casino's revenue generating ability and player interest.

  • Patent number: 8118660
Abstract: A system and method for controlling the number of plays of an electronic game based on the different denominations at which the electronic game can be played. A game field is constructed having a plurality of elements on a game display wherein each element is filled by a game symbol from a plurality of available game symbols, wherein the game symbols for each element are automatically determined such that there is no winning combination without player interaction. The field of game symbols is presented to the player for selection of a field element wherein such player selection turns the symbol displayed in the field element into a wild symbol. The player's selection of the field element for the wild symbol location is received by the game software which determines each winning combination of symbols that is formed by such wild symbol location selection. • Patent number: 8118655
Abstract: A video poker game incorporating a bonus award predicated on the strengths of a poker hand formed by initially dealt cards and replacement cards in combination. Other optional bonus awards are based on consecutive cards forming a winning poker hand and/or the winning cards being in sequence. The game is facilitated by a bonus hand displayed below or above a primary hand on a gaming device display. As five initial cards are dealt in a primary hand location they are simultaneously dealt in one or more bonus hand locations. Then, when replacement cards are dealt into the primary hand in the place of any discards, they are also dealt into the one or more bonus hand locations adjacent to the initial cards. The cards in the bonus hand are then evaluated to determine whether a bonus award has been won. It is also disclosed in another version that regardless of the number of replacement cards, the bonus hand is always formed of ten cards.
