  • Patent number: 10196184
Abstract: A self-aligning, pivotally engaging container sealing device is provided. The device comprises a base, a sealing head including an upper die member pivotally mounted relative to the base, and a lower die member supported by the base for free pivotal and vertical movement relative thereto. The lower die member is biased generally upwardly by a spring or other biasing mechanism, while permitted to tilt substantially freely about a generally horizontal axis. The device may be manually actuated by pivotally lowering the sealing head to operatively engage the die members. Initial contact by the descending upper die member on a part of the lower die member impels the lower die member to tilt into parallel alignment with the upper die member, before any significant force from the biasing member is transmitted through the lower die member to the upper die member to clamp and form a seal between a container flange and container cover located between the upper and lower die members.

  • Patent number: 10194911
Abstract: A surgical circular stapler has a handle assembly, a shaft, a stapling assembly, and a firing assembly. The shaft extends distally from the handle assembly. The stapling assembly is secured to a distal end of the shaft. Longitudinal translation of the firing assembly causes the stapling assembly to drive a plurality of staples in a circular array to secure two lumens of tissue together. The stapling assembly may further drive a blade to sever any excess tissue interior of the circular array of staples. The stapler further includes an indicator configured to indicate “readiness” of the stapler and/or to control firing of the stapling assembly. The indicator may indicate a position of an anvil relative to the stapling assembly and/or coupling of the anvil to the stapling assembly among other things. In addition, the stapler may include a self-draining battery pack configured to drain power upon removal from the stapler.

  • Patent number: 10183384
Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to use a motor with as high an output as possible to complete tightening operations at a high speed while limiting continuous drive output. In a power tool having a plurality of impact operation modes, the motor thereof is controlled at a 100% duty cycle so as to rotate at a high speed in the period between pulling of a trigger and starting of an impact operation (71a-71b), and the duty cycle is changed to a low duty cycle matching the appropriate operation mode after an impact by an impact mechanism is started and a predetermined stroke is performed so that the motor is driven at the low duty cycle until the trigger is returned (arrow 71c-71d). The switching of the duty cycle is performed when the current flowing to the motor exceeds a threshold (I1).
