  • Patent number: 6463962
Abstract: A device for guiding the knife-supporting beams in a jacquard machine is provided. The device is for rectilinear guiding of a body (1) of a shed-forming device that can be driven in a back and forth movement. The device has a rod mechanism (2, 3, 4) of which a first (2) and a second rod (3) are rotatably connected to respectively the aforesaid body (1) and a fixed part (11). This rod mechanism is provided to exert a rectilinear movement on the joint (5) between the body (1) and the first rod (2) while driving the body (1). The joint (5) between the first rod (2) and the body (1) moves for that purpose preferably in a straight line through the joint (7) between the second rod (3) and the fixed part (11). This device is especially utilized as a shed-forming device of a machine of the Jacquard type for the rectilinear guiding of knife-supporting beams. Such a rectilinear guide has the advantage that it can be implemented with only hinge points that require no maintenance.

  • Patent number: 6446676
Abstract: A cross-piece for heddle frames of weaving looms includes an aluminum outer portion (1) with a box-like structure and a thin, solid, steel inner portion (2) to which a heddle support rail (8) is fixed. The outer portion (1) comprises a cavity (5) for housing a connecting end of the inner portion (2) which is separate and distinct therefrom and the two portions (1, 2) are fixed together in position by two profiled strips (3, 4) of plastic material which are respectively resilient and rigid and are arranged on either side of the connecting end of the inner portion (2). The rigid profiled strip (4) is suitable for snap-engagement with a boss (7) provided inside the cavity (5) of the outer portion (1), allowing a stable and rigid connection between the portions (1, 2).

  • Patent number: 6381941
Abstract: A method and apparatus for cutting yarn (9) on a textile machine having a blade (6) which is supplied with kinetic energy via a drive (2, 3, 4). To be able to generate at all times a sufficient yet not excessive cutting power the kinetic energy is delivered in doses and rated in accordance with properties of the yarn and/or device. The drive thus comprises a device (14) for rating the kinetic energy of the blade.

  • Patent number: 6179014
Abstract: A gripper-loom drawing gripper for receiving a yarn supplied by a yarn feeder and resting on a deflection guide, the gripper serving to position the yarn and carry it into the shed. The drawing gripper is configured to define a longitudinal cavity extending from its forward end facing a filling to be received and positioned by the gripper to its opposed rearward end. The cavity of the gripper faces towards and partially encloses the deflection guide. The forward tip of the gripper includes an inclined surface for guiding a filling to a positioning device on the gripper, and a yarn clamp is also carried by the gripper. The gripper includes additional receiving and positioning devices for a filling to be inserted in the loom shed.
