Abstract: A data recording/reproduction apparatus is provided, which apparatus includes a spindle motor which is held by a base body and rotates an optical disk, an optical pickup which projects a laser beam into a spot on the optical disk for data recording/reproduction, first and second support mechanisms provided on the base body, and a seek mechanism which is held by the first and second support mechanisms so as to be freely tilted with respect to the base body and actuates the optical pickup in radial directions of the optical disk. The first support mechanism is vertically movable in directions of a thickness of the optical disk so that a tilt of the optical pickup with respect to the optical disk is adjusted.
Abstract: A converter that records or reproduces information to or from a recording medium while making a movement relative to the recording medium is mounted on a slider. The slider has at least a pair of openings on a side face thereof, and airflow generated by the movement relative to the recording medium flows in via one of the paired openings, passes in a vicinity of a surface of the converter other than a surface thereof facing the recording medium, and thereafter flows out via the other one of the paired openings. With this, the ability to cool the converter is improved.

Abstract: A disk cartridge including: a case for storing a disc-like disk medium rotatably, shutter members for opening or closing an opening for access to the disk medium provided in the case, and a covering member for storing the shutter members in a gap with respect to the case. Cleaning members for wiping the shutter members are provided on the outer surface of the case and/or the inner surface of the covering member. Also, a drive device for recording/replaying information on the disk medium. A spindle shaft for holding the disk medium is provided, which can be rotated by a predetermined rotational amount while having the recording surface of the disk medium contacted with a cleaning member provided on the inner surface of the case.
