Abstract: A method for transporting multimedia information, wherein the multimedia information has several data streams. At least two of the data streams represent at least partially alternative contents of the multimedia information. The multimedia information includes at least one forking point for selecting one of at least two of the data streams. One of the data streams is selected based on a trigger provided by at least one decentralized component. An item of control information is provided for the data stream thus selected. A corresponding device is configured for processing the multimedia information accordingly.

Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus and method of performing a connection setup between two or more endpoint devices communication over a data network. An example connection setup operation may include receiving an initial command at the at least two endpoint devices, retrieving at least one IP address from a cache file in response to the initial command, assigning a port number to the at least one retrieved IP address based on a common session identifier (ID) shared between the at least two endpoint devices, and listening for a connection communication message on the assigned port number associated with the at least one IP address.

Abstract: One embodiment of a guest browser system, among others, includes a guest browser interface configured to provide an address bar interface for accepting a network address for retrieving a first web page. The guest browser interface is rendered from code of a second web page, where content of the second web page is rendered by an installed web browser. The system further includes a guest browser engine configured to retrieve contents of web pages. The guest browser engine is built from code provided by the second web page and is used to update content of the second web page with content from the first web page. Abstract: Systems and method for the management of migrations of virtual machine instances are provided. A migration manager monitors the resource usage of a virtual machine instance over time in order to create a migration profile. When migration of a virtual machine instance is desired, the migration manager schedules the migration to occur such that the migration conforms to the migration profile.

Abstract: Systems, computer implemented methods, and engines are directed to identifying a network of associations for a user. Abstract: Contact information, such as an email address, may be known for some recipients, but may be unknown or out-of-date (or obsolete) for others. However, often a group of recipients are related to each other with potentially overlapping social networks. In such cases, data can be communicated directly to those recipients that are known or can otherwise be contacted directly, while relying on such “direct recipients” to act as one or more proxies for sending the data to the others in the group, e.g. using their local contact information. A server can also be used to provide updates to the originating device or provide access to the list as it evolves, to enable the originating device to see who has received the data even if they are unaware of how the data reached those other devices.

Abstract: A method and system for computing lane curvature and a host vehicle's position and orientation relative to lane boundaries, using image data from forward-view and rear-view cameras and vehicle dynamics sensors as input. A host vehicle includes cameras at the front and rear, which can be used to detect lane boundaries such as curbs and lane stripes, among other purposes. The host vehicle also includes vehicle dynamics sensors including vehicle speed and yaw rate. A method is developed which computes lane curvature and the host vehicle's position relative to a lane reference path, where the lane reference path is derived from the lane boundaries extracted from a fusion of the front and rear camera images. Mathematical models provided in the disclosure include a Kalman filter tracking routine and a particle filter tracking routine.

Abstract: The present invention allows a network policy server or other centralized entity to provide arbitration for selecting media capabilities to use in a communication session between communication clients. In operation, the network policy server will directly or indirectly receive a first message in association with an attempt to establish a communication session from a first communication client. The first message will include the available media capabilities of the first communication client. The network policy server will apply appropriate policies for the first communication client, the network in general, or a combination thereof to select one or more of the first media capabilities to determine a second set of media capabilities, which are provided in response to the first message. This reduced set of media capabilities will ultimately be used to establish the communication session with the first communication client.

Abstract: A transformation engine that enables content and information to be transformed from one format, a source format, to a format that is compatible with the requesting device, a destination format. Advantageously, various device types can access and share content via a network without concern as to the original format of the content. When a client device provides a request for content, the transformation engine identifies delivery characteristics of the client device, and identifies a source for the requested content. The transformation engine then transforms the source formatted content into a format identified through a best fit analysis of the delivery characteristics of the device.

Abstract: A method and a system for analyzing traffic on a website are disclosed. The website is arranged on a server and comprises at least two webpages. A plurality of visitors is allowed to visit the website. For each visit navigations and/or actions performed by the visitor during the visit are monitored, while accumulating value points in accordance with content viewed by the visitor and actions performed by the visitor, and in accordance with predefined value point settings associated with content of the website, thereby obtaining an accumulated value point score for the visit. Furthermore, an origin of the visit, leading the visitor to the website, and a landing webpage being the first webpage of the website which the visitor visits when arriving from the origin of the visit, said landing webpage being designated by the origin, are registered.

These asynchronous cameras 40c limit their images to defined repeatable pt angles and zoom depths. Pre-captured venue backgrounds 2r at each repeatable ptz setting facilitate perspective foreground extraction. The moving background, such as spectators 13, is removed with various techniques including stereoscopic side cameras 40c-b and 40c-c flanking each perspective camera 40c.

Abstract: One example embodiment provides a method and system where a node in a utility network receives a block of IPv6 network addresses from an access point in the utility network. The utility node allocates an IP network address from the block of IPv6 network addresses received from the access point to an in-premise device which communicates to the utility node over an in-premise network which is not IP based. The utility node proxies the allocated IP address to the utility network, allowing other nodes on the utility network to address and communicate with the in-premise device.

Attributes of different ones of the email messages can be queried. A quantity N can be determined based on values of the attributes being compared against at least one history criteria. The quantity of N can vary based on the values and the history criteria. A reply history set can be created that includes a set of history segments. Each history segment can correspond to one of the N different ones of the email messages of the email conversation. The reply history set can be incorporated within the communication reply.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for generating a location-based ranking for a set of measurements. A geographic rank application receives a request from a client to generate a geographic ranking for a specific task measurement associated with the execution of a task. The geographic rank application develops a list of clients located within the specified geographic area that have a task measurement associated with the execution of the specified task. Upon developing the list, the geographic rank application gathers the corresponding task measurements to generate the ranking and returns the ranking the requesting client.
