  • Patent number: 9426670
Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described herein that facilitate interference measurement and reporting in a network multiple-in-multiple-out (N-MIMO) communication system. As described herein, a network device can measure and report interference corresponding to network nodes outside a designated set of nodes that can cooperatively serve the device. Respective interference reports can additionally identify dominant interfering nodes, correlation between transmit antennas of respective nodes, or the like. Subsequently, respective interference reports can be combined with per-node channel information to manage coordination and scheduling across respective network nodes. As further described herein, interference from a network node can be measured by observing reference and/or synchronization signals from the network node. To aid such observation, respective non-interfering network nodes can define null pilot intervals in which transmission is silenced or otherwise reduced.

  • Patent number: 9392423
Abstract: A method and apparatus for anticipating communication interruption. If, during an established call between two communication devices, a telecommunication device determines that a communication link to one of the devices will be interrupted, either temporarily or permanently, the device predicts the interruption in the communication link. The device may send a message, as pre-determined by at least one of the communication device, to the communication device of the predicted or pending call drop or interruption. After the interruption the previously established call is resumed. If a reconnection attempt is appropriate, then the device will attempt to reconnect to the dropped device. If a reconnection attempt is not appropriate, or if the reconnection attempt is unsuccessful, the non-dropped communication device is connected, as predetermined by either of the communication devices, to an appropriate connection, such as, to a voice mail.

  • Patent number: 9320080
Abstract: A master-slave distributed communications network includes a master node, a plurality of slave nodes. Each slave node is configured to store an address of the next node for a message to be routed on an uplink to the master node, and when sending a data packet to the master node it appends the pre-stored address and forwards the data packet to the next node thus lengthening the data packet, as the data packet is progressed from the slave nodes to the master node. For a downlink message, the master node using a pre-stored routing table includes in the data packet the addresses of all the slave nodes on the selected route. As the data packet is progressed from slave node to slave node, the address of each slave node which has forwarded the data packet is deleted thus shortening the overall length of the data packet.

  • Patent number: 9306626
Abstract: An apparatus and system are provided for interpreting the gestural path of a first NFC device within NFC range of a second NFC device, or the gestural path of the second NFC device within range of the first NFC device, to determine context for a pre-determined function. The second NFC device includes a plurality of inductive coupling elements, each element configured to output a signal when within range of the first NFC device. A controller module receives the signal from each element when the first NFC device is within range and determines a path of the first NFC device across the second NFC device based on a time difference of receipt at the controller of the signals. The plurality of inductive coupling elements may be active or passive, and interact with the first NFC device in a peer-to-peer mode or read/write mode, depending on the configuration of each device.
