  • Patent number: 10637536
Abstract: A contactless communication device is capable of communicating in a contactless way with a reader by using active load modulation. Each frame is preceded by a reception period. An antenna is configured to receive a reader signal during each reception period, and to receive a reader carrier signal and transmit a modulated device carrier signal to the reader during each frame. A processor is configured to carry out, in each reception period, a first synchronization between a signal originating from the reader signal received at the antenna and a device carrier clock signal device generated in the device. The processor is also configured to carry out, within each frame, a modulated device carrier signal suppression process in order to obtain a processed signal, and a second synchronization between the processed signal and the device carrier clock signal.

  • Patent number: 10615831
Abstract: A smart radio mount device, system, and method adds an independent smart radio mount configured to mechanically couple with an avionics tray as well as with a radio to add an additional waveform capability to a platform to which the smart radio mount is coupled. The smart radio mount device adds capability to the existing platform communication suite to incorporate a second, independent radio channel and second power amplifier instead of developing a separate radio. The smart radio mount uses empty space available proximal with an existing radio and radio mount to add the full capabilities of the additional waveform with minimal space increase retaining all original radio capabilities.

  • Patent number: 10601109
Abstract: A communication system and method for vehicles, particularly trains, are described with the vehicle having antenna sets. Each antenna set includes a plurality of antennas mounted onto a convex-shaped vehicle roof in which an axis of one antenna set is approximately perpendicular to an axis of another antenna set and in which the antenna sets are mounted below roof level of the convex-shaped vehicle roof. A switching device is operable to switch between a first antenna configuration and a second antenna configuration based on a difference in measured signal power received at the antenna sets. The first antenna configuration is associated with a first stationary communication system of the plurality of stationary communication systems and a second antenna configuration is associated with a second stationary communication system of the plurality of stationary communication systems.

  • Patent number: 10581567
Abstract: A device comprises a plurality of distributed transceivers, a plurality of distributed beamformers, a baseband processor, and a network management engine. The distributed transceivers perform beamforming in a radio frequency band. The distributed beamformers, however, performs beamforming in an intermediate frequency band. Each of the distributed transceivers is coupled to a corresponding one of the distributed beamformers. Each transceiver-beamformer pair is coupled to the baseband processor utilizing a same communication medium such as a cable. For transmission, a data stream generated at baseband is converted to intermediate frequencies. With a low-power transmission, the distributed beamformers transmit the data stream wirelessly in the intermediate frequencies to a receiving device. With a normal-power transmission, the distributed transceivers transmit the data stream to the receiving device in the radio frequency band. The transceivers and the beamformers are turned OFF whenever not being used.

  • Patent number: 10559986
Abstract: Using inductive currents to wirelessly charge a device via a device connected to a power source. This inductive charging may result when a first mobile device recognizes a second mobile device via a wireless connection (e.g., Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Near-Field Communication (NFC), or the like). An application stored on the first mobile device may recognize a second mobile device by transmitting an advertising packet when the first mobile device is connected to a power source. An advertising packet may be received by the second mobile device and the second mobile device may transmit a response to the advertising packet in order to generate a connection between the first and second mobile devices. The response may include data such as, connection strength, response time, connection preferences, and the like. Upon detection and connection, the second mobile device may be wirelessly charged by the first device via inductive charging.
