  • Patent number: 9854604
Abstract: A method in a base station for controlling a Random Access, RA, procedure is provided. The base station initiates (201) an RA procedure on a Secondary Cell, SCell, in a User Equipment, UE, by sending to the UE a Physical Downlink Control Channel, PDCCH, order for a RA procedure on the SCell. At initiation of RA, the base station starts (202) a timer in the base station. The timer is a timer for random access failure detection associated with said initiated RA procedure. If the RA procedure has not been completed before expiry of said timer, the base station sends (205) a command to the UE, commanding the UE to deactivate the SCell, and thereby stopping the RA procedure on the SCell.

  • Patent number: 9848382
Abstract: Provided are a method for establishing a radio resource control (RRC) connection for a cell of a terminal and a terminal using the method. The method determines the number of times of failure in RRC connection establishment for the cell and applies a first access class barring (ACB) parameter or a second ACB parameter on the basis of the number of times of the failure, wherein the second ACB parameter is a parameter which increases an access blocking probability for the cell in comparison with the first ACB parameter.

  • Patent number: 9843502
Abstract: A multi-domain network (5) has a Hierarchical Path Computation Element, H-PCE, architecture comprising a Parent Path Computation Element, P-PCE (31) and a Child Path Computation Element, C-PCE, (21-25) at each of the domains (11-15). A C-PCE (21-25) determines summarised domain topology information about the domain (11-15). The summarized domain topology information comprises at least one of: an indication of whether the domain (11-15) is capable of supporting Point-to-Multi-Point services; an indication of whether a node of the summarised domain topology is capable of supporting a branch point for Point-to-Multi-Point services. The summarised domain topology information is sent to a P-PCE (31) via a communication interface (35). The P-PCE (31) computes an end-to-end Point-to-Multi-Point tree using a topology based on summarised domain topology information (32) received from the Child Path Computation Elements.

  • Patent number: 9825864
Abstract: Aspects of oversubscription monitoring are described. In one embodiment, oversubscription monitoring includes accumulating an amount of data that arrives at a network component over at least one epoch of time. Further, a core processing rate at which data can be processed by the network component is calculated. Based on the amount of data and the core processing rate, it is determined whether the network component is operating in an oversubscribed region of operation. In one embodiment, when the network component is operating in the oversubscribed region of operation, certain quality of service metrics are monitored. Using the monitored metrics, a network operation display object may be generated for identifying or troubleshooting network errors during an oversubscribed region of operation of the network component.

  • Patent number: 9826336
Abstract: The present invention relates to a wireless communication system and, more particularly, to a method and an apparatus for transmitting and receiving a frame supporting a short MAC header in a wireless LAN system. A method for receiving a frame by a station (STA) in a wireless communication system in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention may comprise the steps of: receiving the frame including a sequence control (SC) field; determining a packet number (PN) using the value of the SC field and a partial PN value stored in the STA; and performing decryption for the frame using the PN. When the decryption is performed after reordering a block ACK for the frame, an operation can be performed to increase the partial PN value stored in the STA by 1 if the sequence number value of the SC field of the received frame is less than the previous sequence number value.

  • Patent number: 9807027
Abstract: A plurality of packets are received by a packet processing device, and the packets are distributed among two or more packet processing node elements for processing of the packets. The packets are assigned to respective packet classes, each class corresponding to a group of packets for which an order in which the packets were received is to be preserved. The packets are queued in respective queues corresponding to the assigned packet classes and according to an order in which the packets were received by the packet processing device. The packet processing node elements issue respective instructions indicative of processing actions to be performed with respect to the packets, and indications of at least some of the processing actions are stored. A processing action with respect to a packet is performed when the packet has reached a head of a queue corresponding to the class associated with the packet.

  • Patent number: 9807009
Abstract: A system and method is provided for sending congestion notification messages through L3 networks. For example, a data packet is received at a first switch in a first fabric block of an L3 network, and the first switch performs source MAC tagging of the data packet. The data packet is then forwarded to a second switch in a second fabric block of the L3 network, and the source MAC tag is maintained by the second switch and any intermediate switches. The second switch determines, in response to receiving the data packet, whether it is congested, and generates a notification message if it is congested. The notification message is L2 forwarded to the first fabric block, and further forwarded from the first switch to a source of the data packet using ACL matching.

  • Patent number: 9762433
Abstract: Systems and methods are described to provide fault tolerant folded Clos networks. A folded Clos network is disclosed including a set of tier 1 routers interconnected with a set of tier 2 routers. Tier 1 routers are configured to view a set of tier 2 routers as a single aggregate router. Accordingly, tier 1 routers are unaware of faults between tier 2 routers and additional tier 1 routers. A throwback router is connected to each tier 2 router to facilitate handling of data under such fault conditions. When a tier 2 router receives undeliverable data, the data is passed to a throwback router, which retransmits the data to an additional tier 2 router. Data that is retransmitted multiple times can be disregarded by the throwback router.

  • Patent number: 9755940
Abstract: On a server, a collision handler is called by a physics simulation engine to categorize a plurality of rigid bodies in some simulation data as either colliding or not colliding. The simulation data relates to a triggering event involving the plurality of rigid bodies and is generated by a simulation of both gravitational trajectories and collisions of rigid bodies. Based on the categorization and the simulation data, a synchronization engine generates synchronization packets for the colliding bodies only and transmits the packets to one or more client computing devices configured to perform a reduced simulation function.

  • Patent number: 9756123
Abstract: A method and apparatus for group owner (GO) renegotiation are provided. For example, the method and apparatus may be used for GO renegotiation in a wireless personal network (WPAN), for example, a 60-gigahertz (60 GHz) peer-to-peer (P2P) wireless network. The incumbent group owner (e.g., personal base station set (PBSS) control point (PCP)) controls the operation of the group. GO renegotiation can occur, for example, when a newly arriving device (e.g., a prospective group owner) is trying to connect to the PBSS and/or, for example, with PCP rearrangement among members of an existing group. As an example, after the formation of the group, the PCP may want to relinquish the role of being the PCP. A procedure is described for deciding among clients and the PCP which device will assume the role of group owner from the existing PCP in the event the role of group owner is to be reassigned.

  • Patent number: 9749217
Abstract: A technique efficiently selects a path computation element (PCE) to compute a path between nodes of a computer network. The PCE selection technique is illustratively based on dynamic advertisements of the PCE's available path computation resources, namely a predictive response time (PRT). To that end, the novel technique enables one or more PCEs to dynamically send (advertise) their available path computation resources to one or more path computation clients (PCCs). In addition, the technique enables the PCC to efficiently select a PCE (or set of PCEs) to service a path computation request based upon those available resources.
