Abstract: A single-use medical syringe having a plunger with a sealing element arranged on a distal end of the plunger head to contact the medicament in the syringe body and one or more hollow piercing elements disposed in the interior of the syringe body between a distal surface of the interior and the sealing element of the plunger head, wherein the one or more hollow piercing elements are arranged axially with respect to the syringe and positioned to be driven though the sealing element when the sealing element is driven against the distal surface at the end of the injection operation, wherein, at the end of the injection operation, the one or more hollow piercing elements create a fluid passageway across the plunger head when the one or more hollow piercing elements pierce through the sealing element of the plunger head.
Abstract: A pen needle assembly (10) includes a pen needle (12) with a hub body (16) having a needle shield (28) that covers a needle (26) and can be retracted to expose the needle during injection and return to the extended position after use and locked in the extended position. A spring (56) is provided to rotate the needle shield after use to a locked position. A locking member (84) can be provided on the needle shield that cooperates with the hub body (16) to prevent rotation after use. An attachment mechanism (38) for the pen needle provides a sensory indication when a needle-bearing hub body (16) is seated on a pen and limits further rotation of the pen needle relative to the delivery device.

Abstract: An auto-injector includes a base housing, an ampule, a needle arrangement, at least one drive assembly and a securing assembly which secures the drive assembly in its position with respect to the base housing until activated for the injection procedure. The securing assembly includes a securing cap with a cap jacket, a cap wall and a securing pin arranged inside the cap jacket. Arranged between the securing cap and the base housing is a guide arrangement with a first and a second guide element which define an adjustment path delimited in the axial direction on the side directed away from the distal end. In its release position, the securing cap is still arranged and held on the base housing.
