  • Patent number: 7061178
Abstract: In a plasma display device in which a substrate contains a plurality of rows of sustain electrodes and scan electrodes, a terminal lead-out section of sustain electrodes is formed of a structure in which a common connection pattern is disposed at a location other than the effective display area of the panel, which provides all rows of sustain electrodes with a common connection. Furthermore, a plurality of connecting blocks, to which each of a plurality of flexible printed circuits (FPCs) is connected, are arranged at almost the same pitch to establish an electrical connection with the common connection pattern. A terminal lead-out section so structured can minimize differences in luminance on the panel caused by an uneven amount of current flow into the FPCs.

  • Patent number: 7034445
Abstract: A tension mask frame assembly of a color CRT includes a tension mask in which a plurality of electron beam passing holes are formed and a frame. The frame includes a pair of first and second support members separated a predetermined distance from each other and supporting the tension mask so that a tensile force is applied to the tension mask. First and second elastic members are installed between both end portions of each of the first and second support members, supporting the first and second support members to be separated a predetermined distance from each other to compensate for an amount of thermal expansion of the tension mask, and having inclined portions inclined at a predetermined angle. Bars connect the first and second support members and are made of a material having a thermal expansion coefficient smaller than that of the first and second elastic members.

  • Patent number: 7029357
Abstract: A first positioning mark is formed at four corners of the outer side of the display area of a front substrate at the same step as the step of forming transparent electrodes. The first positioning marks are made of the same material as the material of transparent conductive films and formed in the same layer as a layer in which the transparent electrodes are formed. A second positioning mark is formed at four corners of the outer side of the display area of a back substrate at the same step as the step of forming partition walls. The second positioning marks are made of the same material as the material of glass layers containing white pigments and formed in the same layer as a layer in which the partition walls are formed. The positioning of the transparent display electrodes as well as the partition walls are directly carried out.

  • Patent number: 6963162
Abstract: A gas distributor for an ion source includes a plate having a recess and a series of apertures spaced radially outward from the recess. The apertures define paths for the flow of a gas through the plate, and the gas distributor further includes a sacrificial element that is separate from the plate and that is receivable and seats within the recess. The sacrificial element forms an area of the gas distributor that is subjected to erosive forces during normal operations of the ion source, and therefore, prevents erosion of the surface of the plate. The sacrificial element is removable from the plate and replaceable with another sacrificial element during a procedure which neither requires the plate to be removed from the ion source nor the ion source to be disassembled.
