  • Patent number: 10191594
Abstract: In a projection-type video display device that displays an image by projecting the image onto a projection object starting from a desk surface, a display screen on which a position and a gesture operation of a user are reflected is displayed in a predetermined area. An illumination and a camera are disposed in the projection-type video display device installed on the desk surface, a gesture using user's fingers is detected, and, for example, a menu screen and an operation guide are displayed according to the gesture. The shadows of the fingers are photographed by the camera, and a gesture is detected. According to the gesture, the display screen is moved, rotated, divided, or enlarged/reduced, or a menu screen is displayed. The display direction is determined in consideration of the direction of sides of the desk.

  • Patent number: 10192509
Abstract: A display apparatus includes a timing controller, a data driver and a display panel. The timing controller generates a mode selection signal and output image data in response to input image data. The data driver generates first through N-th data voltages in response to the mode selection signal and the output image data and applies the first through N-th data voltages to first through N-th data lines. The display panel is connected to the first through N-th data lines. During the first operation mode, each of a polarity pattern of first through M-th data voltages and a polarity pattern of (M+1)-th through N-th data voltages repeats a first polarity pattern. During the second operation mode, the polarity pattern of the first through M-th data voltages repeats the first polarity pattern, and the polarity pattern of the (M+1)-th through N-th data voltages repeats a second polarity pattern.

  • Patent number: 10146323
Abstract: A wearable computing device such as a head-mounted display (HMD) may be equipped with a magnetometer for detecting presence and motion of a hand-wearable magnet (HWM). The HMD may analyze magnetic field measurements of the magnetometer to determine when the HWM moves within a threshold distance of the magnetometer, and may thereafter determine one or more patterns of motion of the HWM based the magnetic field measurements. The HMD may operate in a background detection state in order to determine a background magnetic field strength and to monitor for magnetic disturbances from the HWM. Upon occurrence of a trigger event corresponding to magnetic disturbance above a threshold level, the HMD may transition to operating in a gesture detection state in which it analyzes magnetometer measurements for correspondence with known gestures. Upon recognizing a known gesture, the HMD may carry out one or more actions based on the recognized known gesture.

  • Patent number: 10102612
Abstract: An apparatus (1) for rotating objects (40) on screens (9) defines a hand axis (20) in response to 3D position information related to the hands (21, 22) of a user and detects a changed orientation of the hand axis (20) with respect to a 3D space and calculates a rotation for the object (40) on the screen (9) in response to said detecting. This way, to rotate the object (40) on the screen (9), an imaginary copy of the object (40) is considered to be inside an imaginary ball (41) held by the user, which imaginary ball (41) is being rotated. The changed orientation of the hand axis (20) comprises changes in angles between the hand axis (20) and the axes (31, 32, 33) of the 3D space. To improve stability in case of each one of said changes being unequal to zero, the apparatus (1) further detects the angles and compares the respective angles with respective thresholds and reduces or weights the respective changes in response to respective comparison results.
