Abstract: A method is provided for operating a motor vehicle (100) having a headlight (1) with a projection module (2). The projection module (2) is moved into a projection position by a motor (3) to regulate a beam width of the headlight (1). The motor (3) is controlled to move the projection module (2) into the projection position and to reach a motor setpoint value. The motor setpoint value is stored in a non-volatile memory (4) of the headlight (1) and, when a voltage supply to the headlight (1) is activated following deactivation of the voltage supply, the projection module (2) is moved, starting from the stored motor setpoint value, into a leaving-home position so as to illuminate an environment adjacent to the motor vehicle (100). A headlight (1) and a motor vehicle (100) also are provided.

  • Patent number: 11572987
Abstract: Improvements a portable elevated lighting system that uses LED lighting elements for illumination. The LED lights are selected based upon the light transmission angle so the fewest number of lighting elements are needed to provide an even flood or focus of light from the system. A reflector works as a heat sink to remove heat from the LED lights and extend the operation life of the LED's. Thermal paste and or a thermal pad is used between the LED lighting element and the frame to conduct sufficient heat away from the LED element. Two versions are shown as a stadium light and as a circular flood light that provides lighting without shadows or bright areas. The system can be operated from a generator or solar for charging batteries so the lighting can operate self-contained without producing noise.

  • Patent number: 11536543
Abstract: A DE energy weapon and tracking system includes a passive millimeter wave (PmmW) imaging receiver on a common gimbaled telescope to sense natural electromagnetic radiation from a mmW scene. The PmmW imaging receiver operates in a portion of the electromagnetic spectrum distinct from the IR bands associated with thermal blooming or the HEL laser. In the case of a HPM source, the reflected energy is either in a different RF band and/or of diminished amplitude such as to not interfere with operation of the PmmW imaging receiver. Although lower resolution than traditional optical imaging, PmmW imaging provides a viable alternative for target tracking when the DE weapon is actively prosecuting the target and provides additional tracking information when the DE weapon is not engaged.
