Abstract: Implementing website navigation includes deriving a confidence level for at least one leaf node of a website navigation category diagram using historical user operation data; generating one or more navigation hierarchical structure diagrams based on the website navigation category diagram; determining a searching cost associated with each of the one or more navigation hierarchical structure diagrams; determining the navigation hierarchical structure diagram associated with the lowest searching cost; and implementing at least in part a website navigation mode using the navigation hierarchical structure diagram associated with the lowest searching cost.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for providing advertisements for initial off-screen insertion over publisher resources. In one aspect, a method includes receiving, from a user device, a request for a content item for presentation with a publisher resource; and providing, to the user device, a content item with instructions that cause the content item to be inserted into the publisher resource at a location at which at least a portion of the content item is not presented by the user device upon initial presentation of the publisher resource, the instructions further causing the content item to be inserted as an overlay relative to content of the publisher resource and to scroll at a different rate than the content of the publisher resource in response to user interaction with a resource scroll control.

By a second operator action multiple list entries are skipped so as to reach a list entry that is not contained in the displayed portion of the list entries that were displayed while performing the second operator action. In a device for displaying information, the above method steps are implementable.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with providing contextual content along with elements within an application are described. According to one embodiment, an apparatus includes icon logic configured to generate, in response to detecting a selection of a page element, an icon that indicates whether contextual content associated with the page element is available. The page element is a display element of a graphical user interface (GUI) for an application. The apparatus includes context logic configured to generate a context panel in response to detecting an input associated with the icon. The context logic is configured to generate the context panel with a first tab and a second tab. The first tab includes a description of the page element and the second tab includes a set of comments from users about the page element.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a media-editing application. The application receives a selection of several media clips for creating a multi-camera media clip. Based on metadata stored with the media clips that identifies sources of the media clips, the application automatically assigns the clips to at least two different groups in the multi-camera media clip. For each group of the multi-camera media clip, the application automatically orders the assigned clips along a timeline using timing data. The application uses the timing data to automatically initially synchronize the different groups of the multi-camera media clip. The application automatically adjusts the initial synchronization of the groups by comparing audio data of media clips assigned to different groups.

Abstract: A computer-based method for rendering modified graphical content is disclosed. The graphical content includes a plurality of cells. The method includes receiving the graphical content with metadata modifying the graphical content, rendering the graphical content upon a screen according to the metadata, and receiving user input. The method also includes in response to the user input, progressing through at least a subset of the cells, wherein the progressing includes moving a camera view from cell to cell in the at least a subset, each of the cells in the at least a subset being displayed as a focus point with surrounding area being adjusted in opacity according to the metadata.

Abstract: In a system and method for navigating content, a first selection of an aggregated content category is received from a plurality of aggregated content categories provided in a first portion of a user interface for an application for browsing and viewing media content. A second portion of the user interface is populated with media content items categorized in the selected aggregated content category. A second selection of a media content item of the media content items categorized in the selected aggregated category is received. The media content items are shifted to the first portion of the user interface, and the second portion of the user interface is populated with user interface panels relating to aspects of the selected media content item. A third selection of an indicator to view the aspects of the selected media content item is received. The user interface is regenerated to cause the display of only the user interface panels.

Abstract: The system provides a method and process for displaying and sorting messages in a communication system. The system allows multiple folders of messages to be opened simultaneously. The system also displays sent and received messages in the same display when desired. The system includes automatic and/or custom color coding of messages for ease of identification of message types, sent or received messages, root sender, cc messages, responsive messages, etc. The system also includes a unique navigation system to allow the user to more easily move through related messages, threads, and folders. The navigation system can be used in situations where the prior art would have required a search to be executed.

Abstract: A system and method for annotating video content is disclosed. The system comprises a communication module, a monitor module and a sensor module. The communication module is communicatively coupled to a network to receive the video content. The monitor module is communicatively coupled to the communication module to receive an input and derive an annotation event. The sensor module is communicatively coupled to the monitor module to receive annotation data for annotating the video content. The annotation data comprises position data, time data and annotation content data. The annotation data comprises one or more of a text annotation, an audio, a video, a drawing, a sketch, an image, a streaming feed and a streaming video. The annotation data is either created by a user or uploaded or selected from one or more existing sources when the user adds it.

Abstract: Methods, system and computer readable medium for allowing a user to participate in an online private conversation for a head content includes detecting a selection of the content published on a website hosted by a host. A conversation interface is provided for initiating a private conversation within a context of the content. A comment related to the content is provided and one or more users are selected, using the conversation interface. The selected users are socially related to the user and are selected from one or more social networking sites. A link to the private conversation for the content is generated and the generated link is forwarded to the selected users in a notification inviting the users to participate in the private conversation. The link provides access to the content and the private conversation initiated for the content at the website.

In an embodiment of the invention, a method for shape based scheduling of events for a task in a C&S system is provided. The method includes defining a shape for a range of days in a calendar view of a C&S system executing in memory of a host computer. The method further includes superimposing the shape over the range of days in the calendar view. The method yet further includes determining a block of time for each of the days in the range upon which a portion of the shape has been superimposed. Finally, the method includes scheduling at least one event for each block of time determined for each of the days in the range upon which a portion of the shape has been superimposed.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for providing a bandwidth control interface that displays the relative amount of bandwidth assigned to each application executing at a computer device. By displaying the relative amount of bandwidth, the interface allows the user to easily determine how the available bandwidth is allocated among the applications, and whether the allocation provides for efficient network communication. The bandwidth control interface also allows the user to adjust the relative allocation of bandwidth to the executing applications. The user can thereby control the relative amount of bandwidth that is allocated to each application by a network interface device.

Abstract: Contextual content is provided to a first conversation participant via a client device of the first conversation participant. Communication information associated with a conversation is received via the first client device interface. Context information associated with the conversation is retrieved from the received communication information. One or more concepts associated with the conversation are identified based on the context information. Content is selected for presenting on the client device based on the identified concepts. The selected content is then presented to the first conversation participant in a second client device interface.
