If the combination can lead to high IMD, the system can instruct the mobile device to switch to a Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT)-spread Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) (DFT-s-OFDM) waveform for UL transmissions; if the combination would not likely lead to high IMD, the system can instruct the mobile device to switch to a Cyclic Prefix OFDM (CP-OFDM) waveform for the UL transmissions.
