Abstract: Generating and storing, for a multitude of polygonal areas, spatial coordinates of a multitude of piecewise-linear spatial boundary segments. The polygonal boundary of each area comprises boundary segments; each boundary segment forms a portion of the polygonal boundary of at most two adjacent spatial areas. Can further include one or both of (i) an indicator, for each spatial boundary segment, of the at most two corresponding adjacent spatial areas that are separated by that boundary segment or (ii) an indicator, for each spatial area, of one or more boundary segments that together form the entire polygonal boundary of that spatial area. The electronic indicia of the second dataset can be used, inter alia, (i) to determine in which of a multitude of at least partly contiguous spatial areas is located a given spatial point, or (ii) to graphically render the polygonal borders of the areas.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a computerized method and systems for managing feeds so that a user's playlists may be automatically updated in accordance with a user's desired media preferences.
Abstract: In accordance with aspects of the disclosure, systems and methods are provided for managing context aware recommendations by providing recommendations to a user in response to a query related to the user by integrating contextual information of a context related to the user in a recommendation model while considering a granular structure of the context and the contextual information thereof.
Abstract: A portable executable file is analyzed by parsing a binary image of the portable executable file to generate a parsed field. An attribute of the parsed field is determined. The attribute of the parsed field is compared to a valid characteristic of a valid corresponding field based upon, at least in part, a portable executable file format specification. It is determined if the attribute of the parsed field matches the valid characteristic of the valid corresponding field.
Abstract: A method and system for visually displaying and navigating a computer storage system are disclosed. The storage system can be graphically browsed to select a particular entity in the storage system. A graphical timeline of events relating to the selected entity is displayed. Selecting an event from the timeline displays a graphical representation of the storage system at a time relating to the selected event or additional graphical detail about the selected event. Based on the selected event, configuration information for the entity in the storage system that experienced the event can be displayed and compared against the configuration of the entity at a different time or against a predefined template.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing potential search queries that may be targeted by a given keyword. The method includes receiving, from a third-party content provider, a request to identify one or more search queries that match a given keyword. A table corresponding to the given keyword is identified. The table includes one or more search queries with which at least one third-party content item was selected for display. The selected third-party content item was selected responsive to a bid for the given keyword. The method determines from the identified table, one or more search queries that correspond to the given keyword. The determined search queries that correspond to the given keyword are those search queries that can be targeted by the given keyword. The method provides for display, the determined search queries that correspond to given keyword.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of dynamically creating a page module for a word on a display screen is provided. The page module is creating by determining a word provided for defining the page module, searching for text directly associated with the word and text contextually associated with the word, and, searching for media directly associated with the word and contextually associated with the word. The type of page module layout for the word is then identified. The page module layout includes placeholders for displaying at least some of the text that is directly or contextually associated with the word and at least some of the media that is directly or contextually associated with the word in the page module. The page module is then displayed by drawing the page module layout on the display screen and populating the page module layout with at least some of the media that is directly or contextually associated with the word.

Abstract: An efficient fact checking system analyzes and determines the factual accuracy of information and/or characterizes the information by comparing the information with source information. The efficient fact checking system automatically monitors information, processes the information, fact checks the information efficiently and/or provides a status of the information.
Abstract: One example method includes identifying a space that includes pointers that each point to a respective piece of data in the set of data, selecting a first pointer using a sub sample ratio, checking the first pointer to see if the first pointer points to data previously observed in an associated backup stream, if the first pointer points to data not previously observed in the associated backup stream, recording a number of data pieces to which the first pointer points, and if the first pointer points to data previously observed in the associated backup stream, selecting a second pointer using the sub sample ratio. The selecting, checking and recording processes are repeated until the entire space has been sampled, and the required storage capacity is calculated using the sub sample ratio and a sum of the recorded number of data pieces.

The efficient fact checking system automatically monitors information, processes the information, fact checks the information efficiently and/or provides a status of the information.
Abstract: For each first entity of a subset of a number of first entities, an expected improvement of a predictive performance of a collaborative filtering model if additional ratings of the first entity in relation to a plurality of second entities were obtained is estimated. Particular first entities from the subset of the first entities of which to obtain the additional ratings in relation to the second entities are selected based at least on the expected improvements that have been determined. The additional ratings of the particular first entities in relation to the second entities are obtained.

Abstract: Compression of data for database movement, includes: selecting a first group of categorical columns for compression; selecting a next group of categorical columns from remaining columns for compression; repeating the selecting of the next group until a predetermined compression threshold is met; creating first compression files comprising compressed representations of the columns in the first group; creating next compression files comprising compressed representations of the columns in each of the next groups; storing initial row sort order, group identity, and column positions corresponding to each of the next groups; and storing any columns not selected for compression in an uncompressed file in the original row sort order. Decompression of the data includes: rebuilding categorical columns in each group of compression files using group identity and column positions corresponding to the group; and sorting rows comprising the rebuilt categorical columns to the initial row sort order.

The system also includes a receiving exchange unit including circuitry configured to aggregate protein-protein interaction data from a first service unit, wherein the aggregation includes determining corresponding data standards managed by the first service unit and receiving the protein-protein interaction data from the first service unit in the determined corresponding data standards. The receiving exchange unit can generate, in response to receiving the query request, the patient metadata corresponding to the patient, and transmit the patient metadata to the originating exchange unit.
Abstract: Content items and other entities may be ranked or organized according to a relevance to a user. Relevance may take into consideration recency, proximity, popularity, air time (e.g., of television shows) and the like. In one example, the popularity and age of a movie may be used to determine a relevance ranking Popularity (i.e., entity rank) may be determined based on a variety of factors. In the movie example, popularity may be based on gross earnings, awards, nominations, votes and the like. According to one or more embodiments, entities may initially be categorized into relevance groupings based on popularity and/or other factors. Once categorized, the entities may be sorted within each grouping and later combined into a single ranked list.

Abstract: A method for providing data handling information for use by a client of a pub/sub service to handle data published by the pub/sub service includes receiving a subscription request to a data tuple that includes source data from a client of the pub/sub service. When the request is received, a first subscription is provided for the client to the data tuple and a second subscription, distinct from the first subscription, is automatically provided for the client to a data handling tuple that is associated with the data tuple and that includes data handling information defining how the source data of the data tuple is to be handled by the client. A first notification message including the source data is generated and a second notification message, distinct from the first notification message, is generated that includes the data handling information.
Abstract: Methods, apparatus and computer program products implement embodiments of the present invention that include defining, in a storage system including receiving, by a storage system, a storage request, and identifying, based on the storage request, one or more storage management units. For each of the storage management units, a master partition table having multiple master entries and one or more backup partition tables is identified, each of the backup partition tables having backup entries in a one-to-one-correspondence with the master entries. The storage request is performed, and upon the storage request being performed, any changes to essential metadata in the one or more master partition tables are identified, and the identified changes are stored to the essential metadata in the one or more backup partition tables.
