    Abstract: A cover member is adhered onto a substrate on which an EL element is formed with a filler as an adhesive. Further, a sealing member is provided so as to cover a side surface (an exposing surface) of the filler, and a frame member is adhered using the sealing member. With this structure, the EL element is completely sealed by the filler, and shut from moisture and the like from the outside. Thus, deterioration of an EL layer due to oxidization can be prevented.

    Abstract: A LED symbol signal with LEDs arrayed to correspond to a desired symbol. A mask defines the desired symbol. A diffusion surface on the cover diffuses the display aspect, obscuring the individual LEDs. The mask is spaced a distance from the diffusing surface. The more aggressive the diffusion pattern the closer the mask is spaced to the diffusion pattern. Preferably, the ratio of the pitch of the optical elements to the width of the symbol at the diffusion surface is less than 1:2, preferably less than 1:4, more preferably less than 1:6 and most preferably approximately 1:10.

    Abstract: A vehicle light assembly includes a reflector having apertures formed in a circumferential wall thereof which are configured to accept light emitting diodes therethrough in an orientation generally perpendicular to the circumferential wall. The reflector includes a reflective protuberance, which is typically multi-faceted, extending upwardly from an interior surface of the reflector and generally centered with respect to the light emitting diodes. Each facet of the protuberance directs light from the light emitting diodes to an upper lens. Multiple ridges extend upwardly from the interior surface of the reflector at approximately forty-five degree angles with respect to the light emitting diodes for directing the light emitted from the light emitting diodes to the lens. The configuration of the reflector enables the use of fewer light emitting diodes.

The lampbox lampshade provides a uniform illumination for the transmitted light viewing of photographic slides removably attached to the outside of the lampshade.     Abstract: A flexible light emitting diode (LED) lamp. The flexible LED lamp includes a base, an LED lamp head, and a flexible mid region disposed between the base and the LED lamp head. The LED lamp head is detachable or replaceable to obtain different colors, upgrade to improved LED lighting technology, or replace a defective component. The LED lamp head includes one or more LEDs coupled to a printed circuit board and a lens to spread the light generated by the LEDs to provide a larger area of illumination. The base of the flexible LED lamp has a clip to couple an object, such as a music stand, table or a book case. The flexible mid region allows the LED lamp head to be moved into a position where illumination is desired.

The vehicle lamp includes a front lens disposed in front of the special LED so that the front lens is positioned where the direct light from the LED chip and the reflection light reflected by the reflector start to intersect with each other.
