  • Patent number: 6969181
Abstract: A fully recessed unit equipment luminaire for providing emergency lighting to a path of egress. The luminaire has batteries, a battery box, a housing, a charger/emergency switching circuit mounted on a chassis, lamps, reflector assemblies, and a cover. The luminaire may be configured for either wall or ceiling mounting with the use of wall or ceiling mount lenses, respectively. Reflector assemblies supporting the lamps are rotatably engaged by the cover. Each reflector assembly has a substantially semi-frustoconical shape and intersects the lamp's conical shaped beam of light to redirect the beam into a narrow, elongated pattern. The reflector assemblies may have a plurality of planar reflecting surfaces which approximate the semi-frustoconical shape.

  • Patent number: 6953263
Abstract: A linear light source (A) including an insulating substrate (1), a plurality of light emitting elements (3) arranged in columns on the substrate (1), a wiring pattern (2) connected with the light emitting elements (3) and co formed on the substrate (1) so as to divide the light emitting elements (3) into a plurality of groups (B1 to Bn), and first and second terminal units (23a, 23b) in continuity with the wiring pattern (2). The plurality of light emitting elements (3) define a plurality of clearances (P1 to P2?1) between adjacent light emitting elements, the clearances (P P1 to P2?1) being adjusted so as to have different lengths.

  • Patent number: 6846089
Abstract: A display includes an optical film that has a surface structure, such as a prismatically structured surface for increasing the brightness of the display. The structured surface is bonded to an opposing surface of a second film using a layer of adhesive, by penetrating the structured surface into the adhesive layer to a depth less than a feature height of the structured surface. The bonded film structure provides additional strength to the films and reduces the possibility of film damage during display assembly.

  • Patent number: 6811283
Abstract: A decorative illuminated artificial icicle assembly having a lamp housing having an open bottom end. An upright oriented elongated icicle-shaped body member has its top end detachably secured to the open bottom end of the lamp housing. The outer diameter of the icicle-shaped body member at its top end is less than the width of the open bottom end of the lamp housing to provide a light ray passage open space therebetween. A light source is mounted in the lamp housing. The lamp housing has a reflective inner surface that directs light rays downwardly into the interior of the top end of the icicle-shaped body member and also through the light ray passage open space to illuminate the outer surface of the icicle-shaped body member. The icicle-shaped body member may be tubular and have an aperture in its bottom for draining moisture that condenses therein. A colored lens positioned between the light source and the icicle-shaped body member can be used to vary the color of the illumination.

  • Patent number: 6799880
Abstract: Illumination devices comprising a light source and a light fiber are reported. The light fiber is optically coupled to the light source such that at least a portion of the light emitted from the light source impinges on the input end of the light fiber. The light fiber comprises an elongate polymeric core having an input end for receiving light from a light source, an output end for emitting light transmitted through the core, and a lateral surface extending along a longitudinal axis of the core between the input end and the output end. The light fiber includes a light-emitting region including at least one optical element that directs light traveling though the light fiber out of at least a portion the lateral surface of the light fiber in a direction generally transverse to the longitudinal axis. A continuous outer cladding layer comprising a polymeric material having a lower index of refraction than the core extends over the lateral surface of the core and the optical elements.

  • Patent number: 6786617
Abstract: A light emitting diode assembly consisting of separate dies, individually mounted or commonly packaged into one assembly providing an energy spectrum compliant with a night vision imaging system standard, such as NVIS Green A class A. The light emitting diode combination or assembly does not require any external filtering and/or fluorescent material to achieve the NVIS Green A class A chromaticity and radiance requirements. An optical filter absorbing part of visible energy to improve radiance performance. A conformal coating including an absorbing agent for filtering small infrared emissions may be used for improving compliance performance. Use of light emitting diode with conformal coating with absorbing for compliance to NVIS Green B, class A.
