Abstract: A transition region between an engine hood or front trunk lid and a headlight is configured such that the front hood or trunk lid and the headlight adjoin each other without any support to the greatest possible extent. Thus, in the case of a collision with a pedestrian, the front hood or trunk lid can be deformed without any support. In addition, the headlights are arranged outside a zone which is highly likely to be struck by a child's head.

Abstract: The invention is related to a method and apparatus for modifying the irradiation distribution of a radiation source. In accordance with the method the radiation source (1) is used to direct radiation to an essentially planar target surface (6). In accordance with the invention between the radiation source (1) and the target surface (6), several plates (4), which are essentially transparent to the radiation and have spaces between them, are placed close to the radiation source (1), in order to use the reflection and absorption of the transparent plates (4) to attenuate the radiation to desired areas.
Abstract: An illuminated recreational board including a board including a top side, bottom side and peripheral side extending between said top and bottom sides. A plurality of recesses extend into the peripheral side of the board and a plurality of removable LED's positioned within respective ones of the plurality of recesses. A transparent cover is positioned on the peripheral side for protecting and covering the LED's. The LED's are connected to a device for illuminating the plurality of LED's in any of a number of different illumination sequences. The predetermined sequences include a flashing sequence, a strobing sequence, a twinkling sequence and a constant and continuous sequence. The recreational board may be formed as either a skateboard or a snowboard.
Abstract: A point light source is converted into a plane light source having a satisfactory uniformity. The point light source is converted into a line light source by means of a linear light guiding plate, and further into the plane light source by means of a plane-like light guiding plate. Light from the point light source is reflected at a lamp reflector to be incident on at least two side surfaces of the plane-like light guiding plate.

Abstract: A lighting unit of a tent includes lamps, wires provided for connecting the lamps to power, and holding trenches formed along lower sides of upper rod portions of a supporting frame of the tent. Each of the holding trenches is made to have a slot narrower than a middle room thereof, and the lamps have a diameter bigger than width of the slot so as not to fall down when held in the trenches. Thus, the lamps are hidden in the holding trenches to not badly affect appearance of the tent. And, light emitting diodes can be used as the lamps to help make the tent attractive.
