Each of the projections has a respective air outlet located in an end portion of the projection which is remote from the grille. The projections are divided into a first set of projections and a second set of projections arranged about the first set of projections. The air outlets of the first set of projections are arranged to emit air towards the second set of projections, and the air outlets of the second set of projections face are arranged to emit air towards the first set of projections.

    Abstract: A freeze-drying system is provided in which freeze-drying is performed by sublimating moisture frozen by cooling an object and collects the sublimated moisture with a cold trap. The freeze-drying system includes: a cooling device which generates cold with an air cycle in which air is used as a refrigerant; a freeze-drying chamber accommodating a heat exchange unit which causes heat exchange between the refrigerant and the object; a cold air supplying mechanism which supplies precooled air into the freeze-drying chamber; and a control unit which controls a cooling capacity of the cooling device. The control unit adjusts the temperature in the freeze-drying chamber to a predetermined target temperature by controlling an amount of the cold generated in the cooling device. The cold air supplying mechanism includes an air supply line through which air, as the refrigerant that circulates in the air cycle, is partially introduced into the freeze-drying chamber.

The air knife is discharged through one or more discharge apertures, and these discharge apertures are positioned towards the front of the projecting part so that they are spaced at least 75 mm from the wall or, as the case may be, the rear part of the dryer.

The air supply pulls an air flow into the housing through the inlet port as a grain flow pours through the grain flow housing. The air flow passes through the grain flow in a first pass air flow from the passageways to dry the grain. The first pass air flow passes through the filter to remove particles, and a portion of that filtered first pass air flow is recycled back with the filter cleaner to dislodge particles clogging the filter. The other portion is vented through the outlet port.
