Patent number: 7535460Abstract: An information processing device executing a graphics identification program detects a trace drawn on an input surface as coordinate points in chronological order. Coordinate points for representing the trace are selected from a group of coordinate points arranged in chronological order. Lengths of line segments obtained by connecting the selected coordinate points in chronological order are calculated. Also, for each line segment, an absolute angle and a relative angle are calculated. A trace graph in an orthogonal coordinate system, whose first axis indicates a line segment distance and whose second axis indicates an angle of a line segment whose startpoint is one of the selected coordinate points, is compared with a reference graphic graph representing a reference graphic in the orthogonal coordinate system, thereby identifying a reference graphic represented by a reference graphic graph which most closely resembles the trace graph as a shape of the trace.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2004Date of Patent: May 19, 2009Assignee: Nintendo Co., Ltd.Inventor: Hiroshi Momose

Patent number: 7522160Abstract: In a signal converting circuit to drive a shift register and a display apparatus having the signal converting circuit, a conversion control part outputs a first line selection signal, a second line selection signal and odd and even numbered line control signals based on a primary scan start signal to select a first scan line, a gate selection signal and an output enable signal. A signal output part outputs first and second clock signals and a converted scan start signal based on the first and second line selection signals, the odd and even numbered line control signals and the primary scan start signal. The first and second clock signals and the converted scan start signal have higher magnitudes than the signals outputted from the conversion control part. Therefore, a shift register formed on the display panel may be driven using the signals outputted from a timing controlling circuit.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2004Date of Patent: April 21, 2009Assignee: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventor: Seung-Hwan Moon

Patent number: 7518588Abstract: A source driver having the charge recycling function is suitable for a panel displaying device to drive a display array unit. The source driver includes a source driving circuit to output a plurality of data signals corresponding to a plurality of data lines. A circuit for recycling charges is coupled between the source driving circuit and the display array unit, including a plurality of switches to form a path of recycling charges and to transmit the data signals for driving the display array unit. A switch control circuit generates a set of control signals according to a timing relationship of the data signals of the circuit of source driving, to timely control the on/off states of each switch of the circuit for recycling charges. Consequently, a part of charges on the data lines can be recycled during a period of charging and discharging for the next period.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2005Date of Patent: April 14, 2009Assignee: Novatek Microelectronics Corp.Inventor: Che-Li Lin

Patent number: 7499004Abstract: A method for driving a plasma display panel including first display electrodes, second display electrodes interleaved with the first display electrodes, an address electrode crossing over the first display electrodes and the second display electrode. The first display electrodes are sorted by the order into the even group and the odd group of the first display electrodes. A first sustain pulse pair formed by the sustain pulses are respectively applied to the even group of the first display electrode and the second display electrode. A second sustain pulse pair formed by the sustain pulses are respectively applied to the odd group of the first display electrode and the second display electrode. There is a phase difference between the sustain pulse applied to the even group of the first display electrode and that applied to the odd group of the first display electrode.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2004Date of Patent: March 3, 2009Assignee: Au Optronics Corp.Inventor: Horng-Bin Hsu

Patent number: 7460091Abstract: Aspects of the invention can provide a display apparatus using a transparent EL element that can be viewed by a viewer from both sides of the light-emitting surface of the EL element, wherein the display apparatus displays clearly visible images. The display apparatus can include a sheet composed of an EL element having a light-emitting layer interposed between two opposing transparent electrodes. A light-emitting element emitting light from both sides of the sheet can be interposed between a pair of transparent substrate. A pair of polarizers arranged so that their polarization axes intersect can also be disposed on light-emitting surfaces of the light-emitting element.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2004Date of Patent: December 2, 2008Assignee: Seiko Epson CorporationInventor: Nobutaka Suzuki

Patent number: 7450091Abstract: The invention discloses an apparatus for increasing the display gray levels. The apparatus includes a signal transformation circuit, an error diffusion circuit, and an operation circuit. According to a first predetermined manner, the signal transformation circuit transforms a set of image signals into a set of transformed signals. The error diffusion circuit receives the set of transformed signals and generates a set of diffused signals according to a judging rule. The operation circuit receives the set of diffused signals and generates a set of output image signals according to a second predetermined manner and a predetermined operational rule.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 2005Date of Patent: November 11, 2008Assignee: Quanta Computer Inc.Inventors: Hsu-Pin Kao, Hsu-Chia Kao, Yi-Chia Shan, Yi-Sheng Yu

Patent number: 7439936Abstract: A display panel control circuit includes a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) for outputting a clock signal, a first-panel horizontal system pulse generation section, a second-panel horizontal system pulse generation section, a vertical system pulse generation section which is commonly used among the first and second panels, a phase comparator, and a smoothing element. The first-panel horizontal system pulse generation section and the second-panel horizontal system pulse generation section respectively generate a reference signal of a first-panel horizontal system output group and a reference signal of a second-panel horizontal system output group from signal VCOCLK1 output from the VCO. Thus, it is possible to simultaneously drive two different panels.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 2004Date of Patent: October 21, 2008Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Norihide Kinugasa, Yoshio Nirasawa, Hideo Hamaguchi, Sachi Ota
