Abstract: Methods and systems for ropes used to catch livestock such as a cattle roping lariat. In one embodiment, the lariat includes a set of strands, each strand including a set of yarns surrounding a central core. The set of strands are twisted to form a twisted rope. The lariat is manufactured using a set of components including a head box, a tree-cross box with a branched strand tree device and a cross device, and a tail box.

Abstract: A sole structure includes a sole component, which has an inner surface and an outer surface opposite the inner surface. The sole component has a length and a thickness. The sole component includes a sole material, and the sole material has a density. At least one of the thickness or the density varies along the length of the sole component. The sole component defines a plurality of holes extending from at least one of the inner surface and the outer surface and arranged to form an auxetic structure. The auxetic structure is configured such that, when the sole component is tensioned in a first direction, the sole component expands in both the first direction and in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. A property of the auxetic structure varies as a function of the density or the thickness of the sole component.

Abstract: An article of clothing, in particular a protective vest, the size of which can be adjusted. At least one outer zipper with two rows of teeth is provided. Abstract: An article of footwear includes a fitting system with an upper member that is supported by the upper and a strand guide that is supported by the sole structure. The strand guide is flexible and flexes in concert with the sole structure. The strand guide has a guide surface. The fitting system further includes a tensioning system with a flexible strand that is configured to bias the upper member toward the strand guide. The flexible strand has a first section coupled to the upper member and a second section extending through the sole structure. The second section abuts the guide surface. The second section is configured to slide across the guide surface as a result of flexure of the strand guide. The first section and the upper member are configured to move relative to the sole structure as a result of sliding of the second section across the guide surface.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a connection stent and a method of manufacturing the stent. The connection stent includes: a body configured to form a plurality of cells through the intersection of wires, and provided in a hollow cylindrical shape; an upper head formed to extend from one end of the body to have a diameter larger than that of the body; and a lower head formed to extend from a remaining end of the body to have a diameter larger than that of the body. The upper head and the lower head are respectively placed to come into contact with insides of heterogeneous tissues. Accordingly, according to the present invention, there can be manufactured a stent which can connect heterogeneous tissues and form a bypass and which can provide sufficient expansion force and minimum axial force for the maintenance of the bypass formed as described above.

Abstract: An insole of an embodiment of the disclosed technology is formed by way of taking an insole of an existing shoe (or footwear), tracing the existing insole on to a flat sheet of material, and cutting out a new insole in the same shape (side edge dimensions) as the original or substantially there-so. The material is resilient but can be made malleable at a higher temperature using such materials known in the art. It is raised to a higher temperature, then placed into the existing shoe on top of or in place of the existing insole. A person then wears the shoe with the new (hot) insole causing the insole to compress. Upon cooling and while still wearing same, the insole retains a new compressed shape formed to bottom contours of the foot of the wearer.

Abstract: A system for an anatomical joint includes a first fastener, a second fastener, a prosthetic ligament member, and a biasing member associated with at least one of the first and second fasteners. The first fastener is operable to be connected to a first bone portion. The second fastener is operable to be connected to a second bone portion. The prosthetic ligament member is flexible and is directly coupled to both the first and second fasteners to support the first bone portion and the second bone portion for relative movement. Abstract: A method optimizes production of a rotor spinning machine having a plurality of identical spinning units, with each spinning unit having a spinning rotor driven by a rotor drive at a rotor speed to produce yarn at a delivery speed. A permissible range with a minimum delivery speed and a maximum delivery speed for the delivery speed of the spinning units is specified. Operation of the spinning units is started with a starting delivery speed within the permissible range. Current production capacity of the spinning units or the rotor spinning machine is continuously calculated. Current delivery speed of the yarn is regulated as a function of the current production capacity in such a manner that a maximum production capacity is achieved. A rotor spinning machine in accordance with method is also provided.
Abstract: A sole for article of footwear includes a midsole component having an inner surface and an outer surface opposite the inner surface. A plurality of blind holes each extends from the outer surface toward the inner surface. The plurality of blind holes are arranged in an auxetic configuration in the outer surface. Each hole in the plurality of holes extends towards the inner surface. The plurality of blind holes is arranged in a pattern that provides a tunable performance characteristic. The patterns of blind holes vary between different regions of the midsole component to provide different types of responses in the different regions.
