Abstract: Certain examples described herein relate to halftone level adjustment for Neugebauer Primaries (NPs). In certain examples, halftone levels for NPs are obtained for a halftone for printing an image. It is determined whether the halftone corresponds to a line or an area fill. The halftone levels may be adjusted in response to these levels exceeding a printing attribute threshold. The printing attribute threshold may be dependent on whether the halftone corresponds to a line or an area fill. The image may then be printed using the adjusted halftone levels.

Abstract: Relative calibration is used to generate tone reproduction curves (TRCs) at multiple printing devices. A first calibration is performed for a first paper at a first printing device to generate a first TRC. A second calibration is performed for the first paper at a second printing device to generate a second TRC. A third calibration is performed for a second paper at the first printing device to generate a third TRC. A device difference dataset is determined using the first TRC and the second TRC. A paper difference dataset is determined using the first TRC and the third TRC. The device difference dataset and the paper difference dataset are used to determine a fourth TRC for the second paper at the second printing device, thereby eliminating the need for further calibration operations.

Abstract: An information loss determiner in an image processing device determines whether character collapse has occurred in a simple binarized image. If character collapse has not occurred in the simple binarized image, an image processing determiner selects simple binarization processing as the image processing method of output image data. If character collapse has occurred in the simple binarized image, the process proceeds to photograph area size determination. If the ratio of a photograph area size is less than or equal to a predetermined value, the information loss determiner determines that character collapse has occurred in a posterization processed image. If character collapse has occurred in the posterization processed image, the image processing determiner selects grayscale processing. If character collapse has not occurred in the posterization processed image, the image processing determiner selects posterization processing.
