Abstract: A disk control device includes a hypervisor, a cache access measurement unit, and a distribution determination unit. The cache access measurement unit measures a characteristic value of a logical disk by analyzing an access pattern to the logical disk by a cache memory. The distribution determination unit selects one of a plurality of virtual computers including the cache memory associated with the measured characteristic value. The hypervisor activates the virtual computer selected by the distribution determination unit and switches a forwarding destination of an input-output request to the logical disk to the virtual computer selected by the distribution determination unit.
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for restoring application data may include (1) identifying a virtual disk image used by a virtual machine to represent a volume of data within the virtual machine used for storage by an application within the virtual machine, (2) identifying a request to back up the virtual disk image, and, in response to the request, (3) identifying, within the volume of data, at least one file including application data used by the application, (4) generating application metadata and a catalog associating a logical view of the application data with the file, the logical view being based on application logic of the application, (5) backing up the virtual disk image, and (6) associating the catalog with the backed up virtual disk image. Various other methods and systems are also disclosed.

Abstract: Machine implemented method and system for in-band management is provided. The method includes generating a management command from a first adapter having a storage protocol controller; and using a transport driver at the first adapter for sending the management command to a second adapter via the port that is also used for sending any input/output requests to read and write information to and from a storage device, where the management command is in a same format as a write command block for writing information at the storage device.
Abstract: Disclosed is a nonvolatile memory device which includes a nonvolatile memory including a plurality of LSB and MSB pages at a plurality of wordlines; and a controller controlling the nonvolatile memory. The controller controls the nonvolatile memory such that an LSB program operation on a first wordline of the plurality of wordlines is programmed and then an LSB program operation on a second wordline of the plurality of wordlines is programmed. When the LSB program operation on the second wordline is performed, the nonvolatile memory stores information about LSB data programmed at the first wordline at a spare area of the second wordline.
