  • Patent number: 11230838
Abstract: A standardized structural metal plug assembly that, when welded to metal columns and beams, allows to join them together into a bi-axial moment connection without bolts or on-site welding. The plug is assembled in a gravity and interlocking fashion. It is composed of one flange cruciform joint that works as a “male” outward component that channels the beam's “female” inward bracket into its seated and locked position. The column terminals also act as “female” inward component that slips and seats over the flange cruciform joint ends. All the components are lock-in-place to the flange cruciform joint due to various mechanical locking latches attached to the beam brackets and column terminals.

  • Patent number: 11225799
Abstract: A lap siding product with a unique shiplap joint that spaces abutting pieces of siding correctly from each other without installer measurements. The shiplap joint comprises a bottom element and a top element. A lap siding panel or board has a bottom element shiplap joint at one end, and a top elements shiplap joint at the other end. The corresponding ends of two lap siding panels or boards (i.e., one bottom element and one top element) together form the unique shiplap joint of the present invention. An engineered “stop” on the underside of the top element spaces the pieces of siding correctly, without requiring measurement during installation. This also eliminates the need for caulk, pan flashing or joint covers in the joint between the pieces of siding or cladding. The shape of the joint also reduces the intrusion of water, and re-directs water down and out from behind the siding.

  • Patent number: 11219687
Abstract: A system and method of applying a slick surface, such as silicone epoxy, is applied on a vertical wall (on or around the perimeter of a structure), as a means of preventing (bark) scorpions (or other insects/arachnids) from climbing up walls. The system is intended, in part, to keep the Arizona bark scorpions out of homes. Vertical surface areas around the home are treated with a material such as silicone. A clear silicone epoxy, that when dry, prevents scorpions from climbing vertically up into a home or structure. This non-toxic epoxy is applied to the base of a home, including door thresholds, steps or other parts of a home which makes contact with the ground. The epoxy is applied to the area by sprayer.

  • Patent number: 11203871
Abstract: A multi-layer cap shingle for installation along a ridge, hip, or rake of a roof includes a forward exposure area and a rear headlap area. The multi-layer cap shingle includes at least two layers of shingle material, a top layer and a bottom layer each having opposed edges. The layers are bonded together with patches of lamination adhesive adjacent their opposed edges. The bottom layer is configured with a deformation-absorbing mechanism such as a pair of slots extending from a forward edge reawardly inboard of the lamination adhesive patches. When the multi-layer cap shingle is bent over a roof ridge, the slots of the bottom layer of shingle material narrow in width to account for the fact that the bottom layer must bend around an arc of slightly smaller radius than the top layer of shingle material.
