  • Patent number: 7059194
Abstract: The invention involves a pressure fault device for indicating a threshold pressure or a threshold differential pressure. The present invention provides a cost effective way to determine where a pressure problem has occurred. The device includes a housing having at least one inlet aperture and an indicator aperture and having first and second bores in fluid communication respectively with one inlet aperture and the indicator aperture. The device further includes a magnetic piston which is biased in the first bore toward one inlet aperture and moveable a predetermined distance in another direction in the first bore in response to inlet threshold pressure. The device further includes a magnetic responder which is moveable toward the indicator aperture in the second bore in response to movement of the magnetic piston. The device further includes a latching plate in magnetic relationship to the magnetic responder when the piston moves the predetermined distance.

  • Patent number: 5581287
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward an ink cartridge refilling structure having a housing structure with a base structure and a housing lid structure. The housing lid structure has first and second outwardly opening chambers formed therein with a spring biased ink injection device received in the first chamber and an air plunger member with an associated air bellow member received in the second chamber. The base structure has positioned within its interior a moveable carrier member that is secured to a lever that extends outwardly through a slot extending horizontally and longitudinally along the side wall of the base structure. An empty ink cartridge is placed in the carrier member within interior of the base structure and refilled with ink. The carrier member and ink cartridge are then shifted over to the air injection position where air is injected into the air bags of the ink cartridge.

  • Patent number: 5220344
Abstract: An imaging system comprising a source of light movable with respect to an image carrier element and projectable thereon to generate an image, and an auto-focusing system for focusing the image-generating light source. The auto-focus system includes a second beam of light of a wavelength selected not to be actinic with respect to the image carrier element. The initial set up of the auto-focus system is enhanced by the use of the focusing system and a sensor for indicating the output of the focus photodetector to register a zero output which indicates the initial set position.

  • Patent number: 5157413
Abstract: In a thermal ink transfer printer, a print head and ink ribbon are mounted on a carriage which is moved at a first speed in a first direction along a recording paper in a first recording mode and also moved at the first speed in a second direction along the recording paper in the second recording mode. The ink ribbon is continuously fed in the second direction in the first and second modes and slides on the distal end of the print head so that ink is transferred from the ink ribbon onto the paper. Thus, the ink ribbon can be moved, relative to the paper, at a first speed and at a second speed which is different from the first relative speed.
