  • Patent number: 5875542
Abstract: Methods for fabricating merged magnetic heads, employing an inductive write head and a magnetoresistive (MR) read head which share portions of the overall magnetic structure, provide for accurate definition of the write track width and for improved alignment of the write gap and the read gap. The method includes accurately forming and defining the nonmagnetic write gap prior to fabricating the inductive write coil structure and subsequently formed higher topology elements. The methods provide for better control of the widths of the top pole member and the bottom pole member, thereby resulting in substantially equal widths for these pole members.

  • Patent number: 5862723
Abstract: The present invention involves a pivot head wrench having a body section pivotally connected to a handle section, and further having locking means for locking the relative angular position of the body section and the handle section. The locking means comprises a receiver surface on one of the sections, a ball engaging the receiver surface, and a ball position controller comprising a pin having a stepped shape. The pin has a first surface which forces the ball into locking engagement with the receiver surface, and has a second position which permits disengagement of the ball from the receiver surface for permitting pivoting of the head. The spring is biased in a position where the first service engages the ball for locking the orientation of the head section relative to the handle section.

  • Patent number: 5836063
Abstract: In this method for producing capacitive alumina-ceramic absolute pressure sensors sorted in high-precision zero-point long-term stability defect classes referred to a measured-value span c.sub.sp, the sensors are firstly produced conventionally: a substrate is provided with an annular first electrode and, at the center, a circular second electrode insulated from the first; a diaphragm is provided with a third electrode, and the substrate and diaphragm are joined tightly together in a vacuum by the mutually facing electrodes, at an outer edge through the interposition of an active brazing ring with the formation of a chamber, with the result that a pressure-dependent capacitance C.sub.p and a pressure-independent capacitance C.sub.r are produced. Then, using the equation c=(C.sub.p -C.sub.r)/C.sub.p =k.sub.1 (p-p.sub.0)+k.sub.0, at room temperature and under a vacuum (=p.fwdarw.0) a first zero value c.sub.n1 =-k.sub.1 p.sub.0 +k.sub.
