Abstract: A FAX document image is acquired from an external device having a FAX receiving function, a telephone number of a transmission source of the FAX document image is acquired, a folder of a document management system as a destination of registration is automatically determined based on a mapping table showing a mapping between the telephone number of the transmission source and the registration destination folder, and the acquired telephone number of the transmission source, the FAX document image is registered in the folder of the document management system as the destination of registration in a way that attaches an index to the FAX document image.

Abstract: A system including a client computer, a printer, and a translation server provides for printing from the client computer using Internet-based translation services. The system effectively transfers printer driver functions and associated resource requirements off of client computers. Advantages of the disclosed system and methods include reduced costs associated with the development of printer drivers for new printers and new versions of operating systems.

Abstract: A color reproduction characteristic display apparatus displays a color chart. When a mouse cursor is placed on any one of a plurality of color patches constituting the color chart, there are displayed a coordinate value in a CMYK color space associated with the color patch designated by the mouse cursor and a color difference to determine two coordinates on a color space of L*a*b*, said two coordinates being associated with the coordinate value and two sorts of devices as well.
