Abstract: A printing system includes: a printer driver; a server that receives a print job, and transfers the received print job; and a printing apparatus that executes the print job, the server including: a management part that stores and manages print management information; and a hardware processor that determines whether to permit printing concerning a print job, the printer driver having functions as: a job creation part that creates a print job; a duplication management part that acquires, stores, and manages a duplication of the print management information; a confirmation part that confirms whether the server is available; a print permission confirmation part that requests the server to determine whether to permit printing if the server is available, and determines whether to permit printing by using the print management information if the server is unavailable; and a direct transmission part that directly transmits the print job to the printing apparatus.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes an image input unit and a control unit. Through the image input unit, a first image including an insertion area and a second image different from the first image are input. The control unit functions as an image acquisition section, an insertion area detection section, an insertion image detection section, and an image processing section. In a case where writing into or reading from the storage unit is necessary in a course of PDL processing, a determination is made whether the shared area or a page description language (PDL) exclusive area is to be used.

Abstract: A print preview of each page is correctly displayed even in the case of a print job including a plurality of pages requiring different sizes and types of print medium. For this purpose, print medium information about a print medium fed from each of a plurality of feeding units provided in a printing apparatus is acquired and, based on this information and setting information set for each of a plurality of pages included in a print job, each of the pages is allocated to a print medium fed from any one of the feeding units. After that, a preview in which a page allocated to a first print medium fed from a first feeding unit is laid out on an image representing the first print medium and a preview in which a page allocated to a second print medium fed from a second feeding unit is laid out on an image representing the second print medium are displayed.
