Abstract: A media system, receives a received sequence of media content, for presentation at the media system and generates a comparison fingerprint of the received sequence of media content. The comparison fingerprint is for comparison with a plurality of reference fingerprints so as to identify the received sequence of media content. The media system sends a request for identification of additional content to a server system. The request is based at least in part on the comparison fingerprint. The media system receives a response to the request, including information enabling additional content to be selected for display at the media system based at least in part on the identification of the received sequence of media content, and presents a displayed sequence of media content that includes at least a portion of the received sequence of media content and at least a portion of the additional content.

Abstract: Embodiments of the inventive concepts disclosed herein are directed to systems and methods of providing in-flight entertainment related content. A content server may upload first content to in-seat client terminals for local storage and subsequent playback. The content server may upload second content to overhead client terminals for local storage and subsequent playback. Each client terminal may synchronize to a defined reference point for initiating playback of the first content and of the second content. Each client terminal may operate independently of each other and the content server subsequent to initiation of the playback. Subsequent to the initiation of the playback and in response to a system disruption to the playback at a client terminal, the client terminal may resume the playback of the corresponding content at the client terminal at a point at which the disruption occurred. The resumption may be independent of the playback in other client terminals.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for managing visual content. In one instance, an exemplary method includes receiving a stream of video fingerprints derived in a fingerprint generator by an irreversible data reduction process, from respective temporal regions within a particular visual content stream and at a fingerprint processor that is physically separate from the fingerprint generator via a communication network. The fingerprints are processed in the fingerprint processor to generate metadata which is not directly encoded in the fingerprints.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method, apparatus, and system for identifying packet batching within computer networks. A method consistent with the present disclosure includes sending a probe train of packets to traverse a network path within a computer network. Next, identifying a contiguous set of packets that traversed the network path with a negative DIAD time. Further, classifying the contiguous set of packets as a packet batch when a packet that traversed the network path right before the contiguous set of packets traversed the network path has a positive DIAD time. In addition, a size of a next probe train of packets that are to be sent to traverse the network path can be adjusted based on the size of the contiguous set of packets. Accurately identifying packet batching can enable more precise computer network bandwidth estimation and network traffic engineering solutions.

An example system includes accessing means to access a message sent from a requesting device in response to accessing media that includes a tag causing the requesting device to send the message to a monitoring entity with an identification of a geographic location of the requesting device and media identifying information. The example system also includes identification means to determine locations of a plurality of panelist homes and compare the geographic location of the requesting device with the locations of the panelist homes. The example system also includes associating means to identify a user of the requesting device as a panelist residing at the first panelist home and associate the media identifying information with panelist data associated with the first one of the panelist homes.

Abstract: A mobile system that resolve the communication and engagement challenge that companies face on a daily basis including a mobile video app that compliments existing employee communication of large multinational companies to provide immediate and direct communication to employees in several languages. The system includes a local server that communicates with a mainframe during off peak band width periods and distributing the content locally through a private WiFi network. The system may also be configured as a plug in to a software based inventory system utilizing bar codes that may be scanned to provide video content regarding a particular product.

Abstract: Systems, devices, apparatuses, components, methods, and techniques for generating and playing a selectable content depth media program are provided. Media content items are edited to produce selectable depth media segments which are assembled into selectable depth media programs. A media-playback device is configured to navigate and play the selectable depth media program through interaction by a listening user. The user selects the desired content depth for each media segment.

Abstract: A client device accesses a video input stream from an intermediate device for display. The client device analyzes the video input stream to determine that the video input stream matches a template corresponding to a screen portion. Based on the video input stream matching the template, a video output stream is generated and caused to be presented on a display. In some example embodiments, the analysis is performed while the client device is replacing video content received from a content source via the intermediate device. For example, commercials transmitted from a national content provider to a smart TV via a set-top box may be replaced with targeted commercials. During the replacement, menus generated by the set-top box may be detected and the replacement video altered by the smart TV to include the menus.

Abstract: Method, device and system for access control for wireless streaming of audio-visual data to a receiver device, it comprising the steps of: wirelessly connecting the receiver device to a plurality of sender devices positioned in an area, transmitting, by the receiver device, a privilege signal pertaining to a sender device to obtain a privileged status, the privilege signal having spatial coverage within the area, extracting, by at least one of sender devices, privilege credentials from the privilege signal, and transmitting the privilege credentials from the at least one sender device to the receiver device to acquire privileged status, controlling, by a sender device having a privilege status, access of wireless data streaming from any other sender devices to the receiver device. The method, device and system can be advantageous as it differentiates users and permits privileged sender device to control wireless streaming of audio-visual data from other sender devices to the receiver device.

Abstract: A method for scalable and secure vehicle to everything communications may include receiving, at a communications management device, telematics data from a plurality of vehicles. The method may further include segregating the plurality of vehicles into initial clusters based on the telematics data, and dividing the initial clusters into binary space partitions having various sizes, where the size of each binary space partition is based on a maximum number of vehicles in the binary space partition. The method may include determining, for a selected vehicle within an associated binary space partition, a metric representing a suitability of communications between the selected vehicle and other vehicles in the associated binary space partition, receiving updated telematics data from the plurality of vehicles, shifting the initial clusters based on the updated telematics data, and updating the binary space partition based on the shifted clusters.

The systems and methods can perform operations including maintaining alternative domain names for a single webpage of a content provider and associated context information of the alternative domain names. The operations also include receiving a request for the context information and providing the context information in response to the request. The operations further include receiving a notification of usage of an alternative domain name based on the context information. Additionally, the operations include determining usage metrics for the plurality of alternative domain names of the content provider based on the usage information. Moreover, the operations include periodically culling alternative domain names of the content provider based on the usage metrics.

Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for association of a song, music, or other media content with a user's video content. The system enables a user to associate a song, music, or other media content that is associated with an audio clip and a song metadata of a media content, with a video they are about to create, or have created, to create a video moment. A recipient of the video moment can hear the audio clip in combination with the video content, and also view the song metadata overlay, to determine the name of the song and artist that was used in the video, or optionally access the song at a media server, for further listening by the recipient.

Abstract: Systems and methods for training network-connected objects to provide configurations in association with events within media assets. A respective configuration setting of a network-connected object and a baseline biometric state of a user may be stored in a database for each event within a media asset. An event within a media asset (for display) may be detected. In response, a command may be sent to the network-connected object to implement the respective configuration setting. A determination may be made whether the user adjusts the respective configuration setting to a new configuration setting within a predefined time of the event. A biometric state of the user may be retrieved from a biometric device in response to the adjustment to a new configuration setting. If the biometric state does not correspond to the baseline biometric state, the respective configuration setting may be replaced with the new configuration setting.

Abstract: A system for providing a distributed architecture for mobile streaming content delivery is disclosed. In particular, the system may include bypassing a master head end facility and its accompanying fiber distribution network to deliver a content stream directly to mobile cell sites. In order to do so, the system may receive, at a cell cite, a content stream directly from a content satellite and then format the content into a format suitable for delivery to a subscriber device. The system may receive, such as via a radio access network, a request from the subscriber device to access the content stream. In response to the request from the subscriber device, the system may deliver the formatted content stream to the subscriber device. The distributed architecture may also allow for delivering the content stream jointly with voice data services, such as those provided in a Long-Term Evolution network or other network.
