  • Patent number: 11481743
Abstract: A real-time electronic bill presentment and payment system of a bill presentment and payment system (BPPS) provider is exposed to at least one of a business financial institution and an accounting software provider via an API. The BPP provider facilitates the institution or software provider providing a real-time electronic bill presentment and payment mobile application to a business. The BPPS obtains, via the API, from the institution or software provider, registration information relevant to the business. The real-time system populates a biller directory database with the registration information. No action, other than the facilitating, is required by the BPPS provider for the institution or software provider to obtain the registration information. In some instances, provision is made for loss of connectivity between the institution or software provider and the business and/or for alerts to the business.

  • Patent number: 11481846
Abstract: A claim adjudication system including an automatic adjudication pipeline that uses pipeline rules to automatically adjudicate a claim associated with a benefit plan at one or more stages. The automatic adjudication pipeline can redirect the claim to a user interface for manual review when a pipeline rule associated with a manual review condition is triggered. The user interface can present information about the claim relevant to the manual review condition in an integrated format, including highlighting the reasons for the manual review. A user can evaluate the claim in the user interface and provide user input that addresses the manual review condition, and the claim can be routed back to the automatic adjudication pipeline. The user input can also be used as training data for machine learning to adjust pipeline rules that are used to automatically process claims and to redirect future claims for manual review.

  • Patent number: 11436573
Abstract: The present invention provides a data processing method and an apparatus. When a payment server makes a payment based on a payment amount and a payment instrument of a payer, the payment server has obtained merchant information and commodity information of a commodity to be paid for, and after the payment is successful, establishes a correspondence between a service verification code, the merchant information, and the commodity information. Therefore, after the payment server sends the service verification code to a terminal corresponding to the payer, a user can perform verification on a payment system based on the service verification code. This improves verification efficiency and decreases transaction costs.

  • Patent number: 11429952
Abstract: A system, method and computer-readable medium for interfacing with an EMV compliant chip card having an embedded microchip. A transaction computer includes a virtual credit card terminal running in a web browser and that is in communication with an EMV card reader having a chip card slot. The virtual terminal defines a first EMV transaction and a second EMV transaction based upon user input. The virtual terminal then causes the embedded microchip of the EMV chip card to generate a first cryptogram associated with the first transaction and a second cryptogram associated with the second transaction during a contact interface session or a contactless interface session. The virtual terminal then authenticates the first and second cryptograms over a computer network with a card issuer. Once authenticated, the virtual terminal completes the first transaction and the second transaction.

  • Patent number: 11423414
Abstract: An automated system for detecting risky entity behavior using an efficient frequent behavior-sorted list is disclosed. From these lists, fingerprints and distance measures can be constructed to enable comparison to known risky entities. The lists also facilitate efficient linking of entities to each other, such that risk information propagates through entity associations. These behavior sorted lists, in combination with other profiling techniques, which efficiently summarize information about the entity within a data store, can be used to create threat scores. These threat scores may be applied within the context of anti-money laundering (AML) and retail banking fraud detection systems. A particular instantiation of these scores elaborated here is the AML Threat Score, which is trained to identify behavior for a banking customer that is suspicious and indicates high likelihood of money laundering activity.

  • Patent number: 11348107
Abstract: A system, apparatus, and method for resolving a data transaction is provided in which data transactions are resolved by a hardware matching processor that identifies data transaction requests received from client devices over a data communication network, matches incoming transaction requests with previously received transaction requests, and, based thereon, transmits electronic data transaction results messages to the client device. An incoming data transaction request is received and a match is attempted with one or more previously received but not yet resolved data transaction requests. It is identified whether either the incoming data transaction request or the matching data transaction request are dependent on the resolution of another data transaction request and whether that dependent data transaction request has been resolved. The data transaction requests are resolved and/or stored based on the match and resolution of dependencies.

  • Patent number: 11341479
Abstract: A payment system is disclosed including a point of sale device and an issuer. A payment device can be used to initiate a first payment request with a contactless reader. The first payment request is transmitted to an issuer. If the issuer refuses the payment request, then the point of sale device stores information related to the payment device (such as the Primary Account Number) in a storage unit. When a second payment request is received from the payment device the point of sale device can check whether information related to the payment device matches the information stored in the storage unit. If a match is found, then the point of sale device can request verification from a user by way of a user verification unit.
