  • Patent number: 11854127
Abstract: A computing device receives a target value for a design quality metric. The target value indicates a desired quality of a design of an experiment and is related to an input parameter by a response curve. The computing device also validates the target value as being in a feasibility range for the design quality metric, and if so, determines a candidate value for the input parameter that yields a calculated value for the design quality metric. To determine the calculated value, the computing device iteratively adjusts the candidate value until the calculated value is within a predetermined tolerance of the target value. The computing device then updates an interactive graph visually representing the calculated value for the design quality metric as a function of the candidate value for the input parameter and outputs a graph visually representing the relationship that exists between the candidate value and the calculated value.

  • Patent number: 11699006
Abstract: A computing device obtains settings for a design of an experiment. The settings include a first sample size that indicates an amount of members for a first group observed as part of the experiment, a design quality metric that assesses, based on the first sample size, a quality of the design for the experiment prior to conducting the experiment, and a parameter pertaining to the first group. The computing device also displays first and second graphs of the design quality metric on a graphical user interface. The first graph is displayed as a function of the first sample size and the second graph is displayed as a function of the parameter pertaining to the first group. The computing device also receives a first user indication to change one or more of the settings, and then updates both the first and second graphs to account for the first user indication.

  • Patent number: 11625514
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a numerical simulation method of pulsed laser paint removal and a use thereof. This method establishes a three-dimensional (3D) temperature field model by ANSYS software to perform a numerical simulation of nanosecond pulsed laser paint removal. A high-speed moving pulsed laser is loaded on a surface of the model in a form of heat flux, and a coordinate system is moved to realize loading on different paths. A special surface mesh screening method is used to realize loading on any surface, and it ensures that laser energy distribution on a material surface is in line with reality. In addition, an element birth/death technology is combined to remove an element that exceeds a threshold, so as to intuitively present the surface morphology after laser paint removal. The present disclosure can realize the prediction of the contour of a paint layer ablated by a pulsed laser.

  • Patent number: 11615221
Abstract: Exemplary practice of the present invention defines “sphibules” in computer-modeling the spread of a substance in a fluid medium. A “sphibule,” a modeling entity conceived and named by the present inventors, represents a discrete quantity of a substance that is propagative in a fluid medium. Every sphibule has the same size when created, the same constant geometric shape, the same constant mass, and a uniform density. Multiple sphibules are created at a prescribed rate at a source in the fluid medium. Several or many timesteps are performed to compute enlargement and relocation, in the fluid medium, of each sphibule that has been created. Through succeeding timesteps, each sphibule becomes less dense and more distant from the source. A sphibule ceases to exist when the sphibule is less dense than a prescribed minimum density of the sphibules, and/or when the sphibule travels beyond a prescribed spatial boundary of the fluid medium.

  • Patent number: 11487561
Abstract: According to an embodiment, a system and method are provided for constructing an accurate view of memory and events on a simulation platform. The system memory view can be used with a debug and analysis tool to provide post-processing debug, including searching forward and backward in capture time of the stored memory view to analyze the events of the simulation. The memory is constructed by capturing and storing each memory execution transaction, bus transaction, and register transaction during simulation. Changes in simulation platform hardware state may also be captured and stored in a hardware state database, including switches between process threads detected during the simulation that may update a simulator register. The captured events provide observability into the OS processes, the hardware, and the embedded software of the simulation platform.

  • Patent number: 11403739
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for retargeting and prioritized interpolation of lens profiles. A lens profile file may include a set of lens sub-profiles. The camera body and/or settings described in the file may not exactly match that of camera body and/or settings used to capture a target image. A sub-profile processing module may perform a prioritized sub-profile sorting and interpolation method to generate an interpolated sub-profile that may be applied to the target image to correct aberrations including, but not limited to, geometric distortion, lateral chromatic aberration, and vignette. Thus, models generated for a reference camera at a variety of settings may be applied to a target image captured with the same type of lens but with a different camera and/or with different settings that are not exactly modeled in the lens profile file.

  • Patent number: 11194936
Abstract: A system includes a processor and a memory coupled to the processor. The memory stores instructions that cause the processor to determine a first motion envelope of an object. The first motion envelope corresponds to a kinematic envelope of positions of the object which are achievable. The instructions also cause the processor to determine an operational envelope of the object based on an intersection of the first motion envelope and a second motion envelope of the object. The second motion envelope corresponds to a range of motion of the object constrained by dynamic motion limits of the object, and the operational envelope is indicative of a range of motion of the object during operation of the object. The instructions further cause the processor to generate a virtual model of the object based on the operational envelope. The virtual model is used to virtually model operation of the object.
