  • Patent number: 5058088
Abstract: A time indicator is provided which includes a first substrate having first and second surfaces and at least two indicia areas on the first surface. A second substrate having first and second surfaces is also provided. A first chemical agent is provided on each of the indicia areas and a second chemical agent is provided on the first surface of the second substrate. The first surfaces of each substrate overlay and are in contact with each other, the chemical agents coacting to cause a visually perceptible change at one of the second surfaces overlaying the first indicia area in a first selected time interval and a visually perceptible change in said second surface overlaying the second indicia area in a second selected time interval, the first selected time interval differing from the second selected time interval.

  • Patent number: 5054008
Abstract: A device for determining the time anywhere in the world, simultaneously, relative to any selected geographical location. A circuit map is positioned over a frame and is rotatable in a clockwise direction relative to the frame, the map being a south pole projection of the world. The map rotates about the center point of the map corresponding to the south pole. Twenty-four evenly spaced first time zone positions are provided on the frame beyond the outer boundary of the map and together they define a circle which is outwardly concentric with the map. Twenty-four evenly spaced second time zone positions are provided on and around the perimeter of the map so as to define a second circle between and concentric with the circle defined by the first time zone positions and the map. Each first and second time zone position corresponds to a distint hour of a twenty-four-hour time period.

  • Patent number: 4415798
Abstract: A radiant heater for heating the surrounding environment or for transferring heat therein to a remote location. In one embodiment the radiant heater comprises a plate provided with a series of interconnecting grooves in the surface thereof. Disposed in the grooves is either a wire for producing heat when an electric current is passed therethrough or a tube for conducting a fluid, the temperature of which may be greater than, equal to, or less than the temperature of the region surrounding the tube. The wire or tube may be confined within the grooves by a filter material occupying substantially the portion of the grooves not occupied by the wire or tube. In another embodiment, the radiant heater comprises a flat container for such wire or for conducting a fluid, which container is sandwiched between two plates. Several radiant heaters may be functionally interconnected.
