Abstract: Aspects herein describe methods and systems of receiving, by one or more cameras, images in which the images comprise facial images of individuals. Aspects of the disclosure describe extracting the facial images from the images received, sorting the extracted facial images into separate groups wherein each group corresponds to the facial images of each individual, and selecting, for each individual, a preferred facial image from each group. The preferred facial images selected are transmitted to a client for display. Aspects of the disclosure also describe selecting either a facial recognition algorithm or an audio triangulation algorithm to use to determine which individual is speaking wherein the selection is based on whether lip movement of one or more of the individuals is visible in the images received from the cameras.

  • Patent number: 9426283
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method by which an xDSL modem can be properly connected and/or optimally tuned to achieve a desired performance goal based on knowledge obtained by first performing a SELT test and then post-processing the results of that test. In embodiments, the processed SELT results are used to detect bad connections or other anomalies such as split pairs. In embodiments, the processed SELT results are used to configure programmable components and filters in the analog front end in a manner that achieves the performance goal. In these and other embodiments, the performance goal is to maximize the attainable data rate. As such, through various hardware design options and configurations according to the invention, the performance of the modem can be tuned such that even in the presence of undesirable loop characteristics, adequate, or even good performance, can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 9426302
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed herein for providing mitigation of VoIP PBX fraud while having minimal impact on authorized VoIP PBX users. The method includes a system for detecting potential fraud based on multiple and configurable fraud indicators as well as historical data, which can be customized for individual users or groups, which in turn can trigger the other parts of the system to mitigate fraud. The system can terminate in-process calls that are potentially fraudulent and reset the network access credentials for the user accounts or device(s) that have been potentially compromised. The system can use historical data to block further calls from the compromised user accounts or devices to specific locations where the presumed fraudulent calls were directed. In a further aspect, the system and method can automatically reset the network access credentials for authorized users with minimal down time.

  • Patent number: 9420094
Abstract: Inbound call processing systems and methods for processing inbound calls to controlled-environment facility resident media and/or communications devices employ an inbound resident call server configured to host inbound calling accounts established by non-residents, receive inbound calls from the non-residents, route the inbound calls to an authenticating server, confirm that the resident device is active, and connect the inbound resident call system with the resident device if active or inform the non-resident the resident is not available if not. The inbound resident call server also connects the non-resident inbound call with the resident device if the non-resident is associated with the inbound calling account, the inbound calling account is associated with an address identifier of the resident device and the resident's personal identification number is associated with the address identifier of the resident device, all of which may be authenticated by the authenticating server.

  • Patent number: 9420117
Abstract: Call detail records (CDRs) that are generated by different elements of an IP telephony system in connection with the same communication can be matched to one another using timing information contained in the CDRs. Other information in addition to timing information, and which is present in two CDRs relating to the same communication may be used in conjunction with timing information to match CDRs from the same communication. Also, information relating to the type of flow path that a communication follows through the elements of an IP telephony system may also be recorded in a final CDR that is created for each communication.

  • Patent number: 9413880
Abstract: Techniques that enable automatic failover for media stream (e.g., VoIP call) recording devices or servers are presented. In one embodiment, a technique includes designating, from among a plurality of recording servers in a cluster of recording servers, a home recording node that will record a media stream flowing between a first endpoint and a second endpoint, designating, from the plurality of recording servers, an alternate recording node, providing, from, e.g., the home recording node to the alternate recording node, media stream information sufficient to allow the alternate recording node to take over recording of the media stream in the event the home recording node can no longer record the media stream, detecting that the home recoding node can no longer record the media stream, and causing the media stream to be redirected to the alternate recording node to be recorded thereby.

  • Patent number: 9401986
Abstract: A prank call server that performs 911 prank call filtering over a 911 emergency call system, prior to routing a 911 call to a PSAP. The inventive prank call server identifies prank calling devices, regardless of current service subscription, by retrieving and analyzing emergency call data pertaining to detected prank 911 calls. The prank call server assigns a unique global identifier to each 911 call detected on the 911 emergency call system. Unique global identifiers enable a PSAP to uniquely identify prank 911 calls that are identified thereon. A PSAP transmits a prank call signal and a relevant unique global identifier to the prank call server, for each prank 911 call that is detected. A prank call signal/unique global identifier combination triggers the prank call server to store all available call data for a referenced prank 911 call in to a prank call database, for subsequent prank call filtering analysis.
