    Abstract: A laminating device 10 includes a vacuum grid 19 for holding a glass substrate 12, a curved pad 20, facing the glass substrate 12, for holding a laminated element 16 of a wafer 13 and an adhesive tape 15, and a driving element 22 for moving the curved pad 20 toward the vacuum grid 19. The curved pad 20 has a curved surface region 46 so that the distance to a smooth surface region 39 of the vacuum grid 19 is gradually increased from the center C toward the outside. By the driving element 22, the vacuum grid 19 and the curved pad 20 become close to each other in a substantially vacuum chamber. As a result, the glass substrate 12 and the laminated element 16 are gradually laminated to each other while removing a very small amount of air that may be present therebetween to the outside.

    Abstract: Cover pads for use on upright walls, wherein the pad provides an improved internal support which is of simplified construction, for example the center support and the surrounding frame being made of a one-piece monolithic support structure which permits a flexible covering or fabric to be attached to the center support and the exterior side surfaces of the edge frame while the fabric and support structure are in a flat and planar condition, following which the edge frame is folded and secured into position around the center support. The internal support structure for the pad, when in a flat condition, has voids at the corners so that the fabric can be easily tucked into the corners prior to the edge frame being folded into its closing or frame-defining position.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a composite frame for a side gusset of a bag. The composite frame has a peripheral raised region and a depressed central region. The composite frame is made up of a moldable substrate, e.g. ethyl vinyl acetate foam, an outer layer of wear-resistant material, e.g., high-denier nylon, or poly/nylon combination, and, preferably, an inner adherent layer, e.g., the loop half of a hook-and-loop fabric. During the manufacturing process, a flat sheet of substrate is covered on one side by the wear-resistant material and, preferably, on the other side by the adherent layer. Incisions are cut through a central region of the substrate-adhered materials composite. The composite is then molded to provide the peripheral raised region and the depressed central region, with the raised surface being covered by the wear-resistant material.
