The slat comprises a rigid thermoplastic resin having a cellular core and an integral solid skin along the longitudinally surfaces of the slats and a density of 0.4 to 0.6 g/cc. The upper and lower surfaces of the slat have a radius of curvature less than the width of the slat and, preferably, the upper and lower surfaces have substantially the same radius of curvature.

The outer member has a aperture extending perpendicularly therethrough adjacent one end and receives an end of an inner member of another rod therein. The filter sheet has attachment sleeves which are received around the rods for attaching the filter sheet to the frame. The rods contract via springs to allow each rod to be received within the skylight opening and are forcibly biased via springs the rod into secure engagement with the sided of the skylight opening.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a tray table for invalid chairs operable in two modes, and methods for making and operating the tray table. Runners on the tray slide into brackets mounted to the arms of the chair, thus maintaining the tray in position in front of the patient. A detent mounted to at least one bracket is capable of engaging a hole on at least one runner. In one mode, the detent engages the hole in the tray table, locking the tray table in position on the chair. In a second mode, a sliding block is displaced under the knob of the detent. The detent is thereby maintained in a retained condition such that the runner may freely slide in and out of the bracket.

The hinge pins (30, 32) that link the pull chain elements (21, 40) and the adjusting chain elements (23, 41), as well as swivelling pins (16) of the blind slats (14), are mutually aligned when the roller blind is not used as a Venetian blind. This alignment allows the roller blind to be rolled up without problems in a reduced space and to be used as a Venetian blind with no need for special aids.

    Abstract: A view-shielding device for a machine designed to block the view of the machine's keypad or view screen by others positioned behind or adjacent to the user. The device includes two planar screens pivotal attached on the machine's front surface on opposite sides of the keypad or viewing screen. The screens, which are made of rigid, opaque material, are aligned vertically over the front surface of the machine. The screens are attached along their inside longitudinal edges to the front surface via hinges which enable the screens to pivot on the front surface approximately 180 degrees. By adjusting the relative positions of the screens on the front surface, the view angle of the keypad or viewing screen by others positioned behind or adjacent to the user may be blocked. In one embodiment, each screen includes a first panel structure. In an alternative embodiment, each screen includes a first panel structure and a second panel structure pivotally attached along their adjoining longitudinal edges.
