A filtering element (e.g., a band-pass filter) may be positioned between the two or more separate active devices. A signal may be routed by the duplexer through the distributed low-noise amplifier. The filtering element may attenuate transmit signals in the receive path.

    Abstract: In the static and exclusive spectrum allocation paradigm, the spectrum-access parameters for a service are chosen to mitigate potential harmful-interference and ensure minimum performance under worst-case conditions. The new dynamic spectrum-sharing paradigm necessitates dynamically defining and enforcing the spectrum-access rights while accommodating the dynamics of the RF environment and the spectrum-access scenarios. To enforce spectrum-access rights, emphasis is placed on capturing the use of spectrum by an individual transceiver. Spectrum-access rights are articulated in terms of the characterization of the spectrum used by an individual transceiver in the space, time, and frequency dimensions. In order to estimate the use of spectrum in real time, an RF-sensor network is employed, the network uses interference-tolerant algorithms to estimate the transceiver spectrum-access parameters and to characterize the propagation environment.

    Abstract: A method in an embodiment includes calculating a first packet error rate (PER) of a flow sent from a source to a cable modem over a first period of time in a full duplex cable network, tagging the flow based on determining the first PER satisfies a tag threshold associated with the flow, and intercepting, at a selective proxy, a packet of the tagged flow. The method further includes storing a backup of the packet, transmitting the packet to the cable modem, determining the cable modem did not receive the packet, and retransmitting the backup of the packet to the cable modem. Further embodiments include dynamically calculating a second PER of the tagged flow based on a second period of time, determining the second PER satisfies a de-tag threshold, and revoking the tagging of the flow based, at least in part, on determining the second PER satisfies the de-tag threshold.

The second time duration may be included in the first time duration, and the second time duration is less than or equal to 40% of the first time duration.

The first access point allocates a transmission channel to the first station to communicate with the first access point. The first access point determines whether an acknowledgement from the first station is received. In response to determining that the acknowledgement has not been received, the first access point reallocates the first station to a different transmission channel.
