  • Patent number: 11457181
Abstract: Systems and methods for assisting drivers to maneuver a vehicle include a plurality of image sensors about a vehicle capture image data. At least one processor is programmed to display one or more types of overhead views on a vehicle display based on the image data. For example, an environment-fixed overhead composite image can be displayed on the vehicle display. In the environment-fixed overhead composite image, an environment about the vehicle is displayed spatially fixed as the vehicle is maneuvered, and a graphical image representing the vehicle moves within the environment-fixed overhead composite image as the vehicle maneuvered. This type of overhead view can be shown when, for example, distance between the vehicle and a target object is below a threshold.

  • Patent number: 11423310
Abstract: A deep learning based compression (DLBC) system applies trained models to compress binary code of an input image to a target codelength. For a set of binary codes representing the quantized coefficents of an input image, the DLBC system applies a first model that is trained to predict feature probabilities based on the context of each bit of the binary codes. The DLBC system compresses the binary code via adaptive arithmetic coding based on the determined probability of each bit. The compressed binary code represents a balance between a reconstruction quality of a reconstruction of the input image and a target compression ratio of the compressed binary code.

  • Patent number: 11375194
Abstract: Systems and method for video compression using conditional entropy coding. An ordered sequence of image frames can be transformed to produce an entropy coding for each image frame. Each of the entropy codings provide a compressed form of image information based on a prior image frame and a current image frame (the current image frame occurring after the prior image frame). In this manner, the compression model can capture temporal relationships between image frames or encoded representations of the image frames using a conditional entropy encoder trained to approximate the joint entropy between frames in the image frame sequence.

  • Patent number: 11343412
Abstract: An electronic device receives depth sensor data that includes depths sensed in multiple zones in the field of view of a depth sensor. The device determines whether a user is in front of the device based on the depth sensor data. If the user is determined to be present, then the device causes a display to enter an operational mode. Otherwise, the device causes the display to enter a standby mode. The device may also determine whether the user's attention is on the device by determining whether the depth sensor data indicates that the user is facing the device. If so, the device causes the display to enter the operational mode. Otherwise, the device causes the display to enter a power saving mode. The device may use a machine learning algorithm to determine whether the depth sensor data indicates that the user is present and/or facing the device.

  • Patent number: 11317100
Abstract: A video coding block is intra-predicted on the basis of reference samples from a set of neighboring video coding blocks. A preliminary fitting plane, defined by a set of preliminary fitting plane parameters, is determined on the basis of the reference samples. Those preliminary fitting plane parameters whose parameter value lies outside a predefined range of allowable parameter values are clipped to an adjusted parameter value inside the predefined range. Those preliminary fitting plane parameters whose parameter value lies within the predefined range of allowable parameter values are maintained. An adjusted fitting plane is determined on the basis of the clipped fitting plane parameters and the unclipped fitting plane parameters. The adjusted fitting plane defines a plurality of fitting samples. The samples of the current video coding block are defined on the basis of the plurality of fitting samples.
