  • Patent number: 7768391
Abstract: Conventionally, people have to go to the place where a measurement instrument for health data is, to obtain health data and the like. Further, even when using a portable measurement instrument, people have to manage data by themselves, thus health data cannot be managed rapidly. According to the invention, a modulating circuit, a demodulating circuit, a logic circuit, a sensor circuit, and an antenna circuit are provided over an insulating substrate, thereby data sensed by the sensor circuit is transmitted wirelessly. According to the invention, health data on the living body (for example a human body) is sensed and can be rapidly detected.

  • Patent number: 7741955
Abstract: Method for rapidly detecting identifier (ID) of tags, by radio frequency identification (RFID) reader in communication system that includes RFID reader and at least two tags communicating with RFID reader, is provided. RFID reader generates a prefix when IDs contained in at least two messages received collide with each other, prefix including a first colliding bit, which is set to ‘0’ or ‘1’, from high-order bits and non-colliding high-order bits. RFID reader sends a first message containing information that requests transmission of an assigned ID in a preset transmission period when the bits of the generated prefix match bits corresponding to the prefix, in the assigned ID. Tags receive a first message that contains a prefix including at least one bit, and sends a second message containing an assigned ID during a preset transmission period when the bits of the prefix match bits corresponding to the prefix, in assigned ID.

  • Patent number: 7737824
Abstract: A hierarchical structure is established among a plurality of RFID tags, such that ID numbers can be read only from RFID tags which belong to a particular layer. RFID tag can control whether permission should be given to read its ID number therefrom to protect the ID number. Data held in the RFID tag can be read from the outside. RFID tag comprises a memory circuit having a function of holding data, and a logic circuit having a function of processing a control command received from outside. Memory circuit stores an own ID number for identifying the RFID tag itself, and a parent ID number for identifying a second RFID tag. When RFID tag receives an ID number read command which contains first data as a parameter from outside, the logic circuit outputs the own ID number to outside only when the first data matches the parent ID number.

  • Patent number: 7710284
Abstract: A garage monitoring system is provided that determines if the garage door is opened or closed, and will not issue a move door command if the garage door is already opened and it will not issue a move door command if smoke is detected first. The system's sequence of operation is can thus be described as follows: a. If CO is detected first, high concentration, sound alarm and open door immediately. b. If CO is detected first, low concentration, sound alarm and wait a time period to see if smoke alarm activates. If smoke alarm does not activate, open garage door, otherwise do not change the position of the garage door. c. If smoke is detected first, sound alarm and do not change the position of the garage door.

  • Patent number: 7671734
Abstract: A footprint location system installed on footwear is disclosed. A user simply has to wear the shoes to track his/her locations without any setup or calibration efforts. The footprint location system measures and tracks the displacement vectors along a trail of footprints. The position of a user can be determined by summing up the current and all previous displacement vectors. In addition to being infrastructure-free, the footprint location method does not have problems found in existing indoor location systems, such as obstacles, multi-path effects, signal noises, signal interferences, and dead spots.
