  • Patent number: 9333421
Abstract: An m×l array of randomly selected tokens may be provided as a playing field, and a second n×l array of randomly selected tokens may be provided as a hand. The player may select a cell within the m×l array to replace the token in said cell with a token in a corresponding cell of the n×l array. If the replacement results in a region of adjacent identical tokens in the m×l array, the tokens may be removed and the player's score incremented. If no plays are possible from the player's hand, the player may draw a new hand of randomly selected tokens to replace the tokens and/or blank spaces in the n×l array. Play continues until the player has exhausted a predetermined number of opportunities to draw a new hand.

  • Patent number: 9330528
Abstract: A token dispensing system is adapted suitable for installing a token dispenser in a game device. A mounting bracket for the token dispenser provides a simple and inexpensive way to install the token dispenser as part of the token dispensing system inside the housing of a game device. The dispensing system includes an electronic control circuit that controls an alarm device to provide a low level warning signal when the level of tokens in the token dispenser is low and an empty warning signal when the token dispenser is empty. The electronic control circuit controls dispensing tokens from the token dispenser such that a user receives the correct number of tokens even if the dispenser runs out of tokens in the middle of dispensing a selected number of tokens during a transaction.

  • Patent number: 9308426
Abstract: A pitch monitoring system for use with a portable electronic device. The system includes a processor, a ball having a core and a cover assembly, at least one sensor for sensing movement of the ball, a data output device in communication with the sensor, and a non-transient computer-readable medium containing code. The cover assembly includes comprising panels joined by stitching and surrounding the core. The output device transmits the signals to the portable electronic device. The code directs the processor to receive signals indicating movement of the ball relative to a strike zone during a pitch of the ball by a first user, retrieve a batting characteristic of a simulated batter corresponding to the indicated movement of the ball relative to the strike zone during the pitch, and output a simulated pitch result for the pitch based on the retrieved batting characteristic of the simulated batter for the indicated movement.

  • Patent number: 9311788
Abstract: A gaming device including a plurality of unisymbol reels which are each selectively activated to generate a symbol at an active symbol position. After a plurality of symbols are generated by the unisymbol reels (wherein the number of generated symbols is based on a wagered on number of ways to win), the gaming device analyzes any associated symbols which are generated in active symbol positions over a requisite number of adjacent reel columns to determine whether the generated symbols form part or all of a winning symbol combination (i.e., a combination of associated or related symbols). The gaming device determines any outcomes associated with any formed winning symbol combinations and provides any determined outcomes to the player, wherein unlike a gaming device with paylines, any outcomes provided to the player are not determined based on the number of paylines which may pass through any displayed winning symbol combinations.

  • Patent number: 9305430
Abstract: A slot machine executes a slot game by rearranging symbols that are arranged in multiple partitioned regions in a matrix including first to fifth columns and first to third rows. There are multiple paylines in these partitioned regions in the matrix. A player selects and specifies some of these paylines to be bet with game media. By betting the game media on each of the specified paylines, those paylines are activated in the slot game. When the rearranged symbols form a winning combination on any of the activated paylines, the player receives an award. Moreover, the slot machine performs a process to decide an award content for a progressive bonus along execution of the slot game in which the player bets the game media on all the paylines or a predetermined number or more of the paylines.

  • Patent number: 9272216
Abstract: An apparatus body is provided with a sensor face in which a plurality of sensor electrodes for detecting electrostatic capacitance are disposed. A recognition pattern formed by connecting a plurality of conductive spots through conductive lines is provided in an identification body. When the recognition pattern of the identification body is made to face the sensor face of the apparatus body, the plurality of sensor electrodes are electrically connected to one another through the recognition pattern to thereby generate a change of electrostatic capacitance so that the apparatus body can identify the recognition pattern based on the change of electrostatic capacitance. Thus, it is possible to provide an identification apparatus which can be manufactured inexpensively without use of an expensive apparatus such as an RFID system.

  • Patent number: 9208636
Abstract: In a gaming system including gaming terminals, each gaming terminal executes a bonus game when the result of a base game satisfies a predetermined condition. If a first gaming machine that does not have an entry right exists among the gaming terminals when the base game is executed, the controller performs drawing of the entry right for the first gaming terminal. The controller sets an award expected in a bonus game of a first case to be greater than an award expected in a bonus game of a second case. The first case is a case that the bonus game is triggered in a gaming terminal that has the entry right when the base game is executed, and the second case is a case that the bonus game is triggered in the gaming terminal that does not the entry right when the base game is executed.
