Abstract: A system level search user interface that includes both a data entry portion and an application identification portion is displayed. User data input as a search term is displayed in the data entry portion, and identifiers of each of one or more applications of multiple applications on the computing device that can be searched using the search term are displayed in the application identification portion. The search term is provided to one application of the multiple applications for that one application to generate and display search results based on the search term while the display of at least the data entry portion of the system level search user interface is maintained.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to a user interface for building queries. The user may select a source or sources to be queried, and establish any number of desirable and undesirable criteria to filter the source or sources. The result set may be named with an identifier. Additional queries may be built that use previous queries as sources. The interface for building queries may be used in conjunction with electronic discovery software or document review software to filter relevant documents.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products for identifying original content. In one aspect a method is described that includes identifying a first document in a collection of documents. The first document contains a content piece and the content piece does not occur in any earlier document in the collection. The first document is associated with a first author and the first author associated with a first rank. The first rank of the first author is determined using a score of the content piece. The score is a figure of merit of the content piece.

Abstract: A method and system for serving electronic content for placement in a user interface provided by an online service provider system is described. The system stores user data in a user database based on user interaction with the user interface and stores filters associated with the electronic content. The user data is compared to the filters associated with the electronic content and it is determined if the user data matches conditions of the filters. If a match is determined the electronic content is provided for presentation by the user interface.

Abstract: Recording of various events in a video format that facilitates viewing and selective editing are provided. The video can be presented in a wiki-format that allows a multitude of subsequent users to add, modify and/or delete content to the original recorded event or a revision of that event. As edits and annotations are applied, either automatically or manually, such edits can be indexed based on criteria such as identification of an annotator, a time stamp associated with the edit, a revision number, or combinations thereof. The edits or annotations can be provided in various formats including video, audio, text, and so forth.

Abstract: Tools and techniques are provided to assist detection of invalid clicks in website activity data. A system calculates or otherwise obtains a historic click quality characterization based on historic web analytics data. The system then identifies a click quality anomaly in the website activity data, namely, a departure from the historic click quality characterization. The identified anomalies may then be used to help guide searches for invalid clicks.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for performing a SQL bypass in a business intelligence (BI) server environment. The BI server initially receives a SQL query and constructs an extensible markup language (XML) representation of the SQL query. The XML representation is sent to an application server that hosts an application developer framework (ADF). The ADF receives the XML representation of the SQL query and constructs a composite view object at runtime, to access the appropriate data. It then generates a database-specific query based on the composite view object and returns it to the BI server. The BI server replans the database-specific query and sends it to a database storing the data.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a method is provided for determining a mood profile of media data. In this method, mood is determined across multiple elements of mood for the media data to create a mood profile associated with the media data. In some embodiments, the mood profile is then used to determine congruencies between one or more pieces of media data.

Abstract: Methods and systems for providing easy access to information and sharing are provided. Embodiments of the present invention enable a host to grant access to published content to one or more users in a manner in which the user(s) can scan small portions of information to decide which information is desired. The embodiments described herein enable, for example, a user to see a library of content that is larger than the storage capacity of the computing unit used by the user. The sharing of information is also secured through the use of auto-lock keys and the creation of abstract identities for the host and each user.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing weather data are adapted to receive requests in a free-form format, such as a text input, and specifying a geographic area. The system is adapted to identify geographic areas likely corresponding to the free-form input and retrieve weather data corresponding to those identified geographic areas from a weather observation location proximate to the geographic area.

Abstract: To prevent conflicts of interest, an information management system is used to make sure two or more groups are kept apart so that information does not circulate freely between these groups. The system has policies to implement an “ethical wall” to separate users or groups of users. The user or groups of user may be organized in any arbitrary way, and may be in the same organization or different organizations. The two groups (or two or more users) will not be able to access information belonging to the other, and users in one group may not be able to pass information to the other group. The system may manage access to documents, e-mail, files, and other forms of information.

Abstract: A dynamic document template contains a set of queries. Each query may include a query scope. The query scope may refer to a content of a source document that is maintained in a document collection. A content rule is applied to monitor the template for a change. A notification event is triggered when a change to the document collection results in an invalid query scope in the template. A notification event may also be triggered when a change to the document collection results in valid query but the template needs to be refreshed. An additional notification event may be triggered if the template is modified so that the resulting template is either invalid or needs to be refreshed with different content from the collection.

Abstract: A method for resolving a unit of work involving a plurality of participants, for use in a publish/subscribe system having a plurality of participants that subscribe to a first topic and at least one component having access to an outcome associated with the unit of work. The component publishes, to the first topic, a first message comprising a first outcome associated with the unit of work. If there is a failure associated with a first participant, a second participant use the published outcome to recover the unit of work.

Abstract: The invention entails a method of Etiological prioritization based on an original symbolic model of the causative construction of singular logical relations which are built from an initiation of sensed masses in patterns, the naming of sensed patterns into words, the description of the relations of masses using specific English language primitives, the relations between masses and words, and the relations between primitive words. This process is built upon a theory and model of discretized human capabilities and learned experiential meanings. Human capabilities and learned experiential meanings are identified as singular primitives and amount to words identified and matched to singular parts that make up human capabilities and the inventive model of the experiences of the sensing and understanding of the spatiotemporal physical world.

Specifically, a screen is displayed on the management screen, in which a creation or deletion of the file system becomes impossible with respect to the disk device in the power saving state. Abstract: A system described herein includes a receiver component that receives a dataset that is stored in a computer-readable medium of a computing device, wherein the dataset includes a plurality of queries issued by users to a search engine and a plurality of search results selected by the users upon issuing the plurality of queries. A distribution determiner component determines click distributions over the search results selected by the users with respect to the plurality of queries. A labeler component labels at least two queries in the plurality of queries as being substantially similar to one another based at least in part upon the click distributions over the search results selected by the users with respect to the plurality of queries.
