Abstract: A method for receiving data is provided. Multiple packages are received according to a sliding window W(N). If a starting package of the packages is received successfully, the W(N) is slid to a W(N+1). If a non-starting package of the packages is received successfully, the corresponding counter is activated for counting. If the starting package of the packages is not successfully received and part of multiple counters counts to an up-limited value, the W(N) slides to the W(N+1). Other packages are continuously received according to the W(N+1), and whether the block sequence numbers (BSNs) of the counters located in the overlap area between the W(N) and the W(N+1) are determined. When at least one BSN to which at least one counter corresponds is not located in the overlap area, the at least one counter corresponding to the at least one BSN not located in the overlap area is reset.

Abstract: There are disclosed processes and apparatus reordering packets. The system includes a plurality of source processors that transmit the packets to a destination processor via multiple communication fabrics. The source processors and the destination processor are synchronized together. Time stamp logic at each source processor operates to include a time stamp parameter with each of the packets transmitted from the source processors. The system also includes a plurality of memory queues located at the destination processor. An enqueue processor operates to store a memory pointer and an associated time stamp parameter for each of the packets received at the destination processor in a selected memory queue. A dequeue processor determines a selected memory pointer associated with a selected time stamp parameter and operates to process the selected memory pointer to access a selected packet for output in a reordered packet stream.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for communicating information between networked devices. Various aspects of the present invention may comprise, for example, a first networked device communicating information over a wireless communication network to a second networked device having power-save mode capability. The first networked device receives an incoming message from the second networked device. A first outgoing message is transmitted to the second networked device prior to transmitting a previously queued outgoing message. A second outgoing message is transmitted to the second networked device prior to the previously queued outgoing message being transmitted. Information may be communicated to the second networked device in a particular manner that depends on whether the second networked device has power-save capability. Communication medium access may be performed in a particular manner, depending on whether the second networked device has power-save capability.
Abstract: A channel estimator for use in a receiver node receiving signals from a plurality of user terminals wherein each user terminal is allotted a respective set of transmission subcarriers and respective test signal sequences for transmission over the channel to be estimated. The channel estimator has stored therein information as to the respective sets of transmission subcarriers allotted to the user terminals for transmission as well as the discrete spectra of the respective test signal sequences allotted to the user terminals. Upon receiving from a plurality of user terminals signals including the respective test signal sequences transmitted over the channel by using the respective sets of transmission subcarriers allotted thereto, the estimator generates the discrete spectrum of the combined test signal received and performs channel estimation as a function of the discrete spectrum of the combined test signal and the discrete spectra of the test signal sequences allotted to the user terminals.

Abstract: Data communication in network traffic is modeled in real time and is analyzed using a 2-state Markov modified Poissen process (MMPP). The traffic inter-arrival times for bursty and idle states define a transition window [?1max, ?2min] represented by the boundary values ?1max for the inter-arrival time for bursty traffic, and ?2min for the inter-arrival time for idle traffic. Changes in the values of ?1max and ?2min are tracked over time, and the size of the transition window is enlarged or decreased based upon relative changes in these values. If the inter-rival times for the bursty state and the idle state become approximately equal, the model defaults to a single state model. The modeling is applicable to the synchronization of polling and blocking in a low-latency network system. This permits the adoptive selection of poll or block to maximize CPU utilization and interrupt latency.
