  • Patent number: 9052174
Abstract: A projectile is provided with a projectile tip having enhanced aerodynamic properties to improve accuracy of the projectile. The tip has a body having a base or lower end, an upper end and a curved, side wall between its upper and lower ends that defines an ogive tip length. The tip is received with a projectile jacket and also can have a series of aerodynamic features formed in its body to modify air flow about the body of the projectile in flight.

  • Patent number: 7150467
Abstract: An elongated housing for use with an airbag module is provided. The housing comprises a first wall, a second wall, a bottom wall joining the first and second walls such that a first width is defined by the housing, and a cushion deployment opening opposite the bottom wall. The cushion deployment opening is between a first edge of the first wall and a second edge of the second wall. The cushion deployment opening has a second width that is between about 90 percent of the first width and about 30 percent of the first width.

  • Patent number: 6612064
Abstract: A rod and reel combination which may be configured for normal casting or for automatic casting. For automatic casting the rod is flexed by turning the reel crank and the cast is made by pressing the thumb button to free the line as the kinetic energy stored in the flexed rod is imparted to the weight.

  • Patent number: 6484670
Abstract: In this incubator, when the angle of a door to a nursing window of a hood is smaller than a rotation restricting angle, door rotation restricting means restrains the rotation of the door in an opening direction. Because of this reason, when the angle of the door is smaller than the rotation restricting angle, the door is not rotated in the opening direction beyond the rotation restricting angle and the angle of the door does not exceed the rotation restricting angle, even if the door is pushed by an accommodated baby from the inside of the hood under the state wherein the door is not fixed in the closing state by a door fixing device. Therefore, even if opening and closing operation for the nursing window is not securely performed, the environment inside the hood hardly deviates from the physiological environment appropriate for the accommodated baby to say the least.

  • Patent number: 6477987
Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for transporting a large number of live poultry from one location to another. Using a tray, the birds are loaded and transported to the new location where the tray is lifted upward and/or laterally into a position for unloading which is convenient relative to the features present at the new location. When the apparatus reaches the new location, a gate on the leading edge of the tray is opened and the birds are forcibly moved across the floor of the tray through the open gate and into the desired location. Movement of the birds is caused in one disclosed embodiment by equipping the tray with a slippery floor and tilting the tray toward the open gate. In one alternative disclosed embodiment, movement of the birds is caused by equipping the floor of the tray with a conveyor belt and a rake to gently push the birds toward the open gate.

  • Patent number: 6460281
Abstract: A single trigger sequential firing mechanism for a double barrel firearm fires the two barrels or chambers successively upon successive trigger actuation, without need for a separate selector switch. The firing pins are driven by linear motion of corresponding pistons or plungers, rather than by arcuate motion of pivoting hammers. The present invention is adaptable to various double barrel gun configurations, but is particularly adaptable for use with over and under double barrel shotguns. Three different embodiments are disclosed, with each having identical parts and components with the exception of the upper portion of the trigger body. The first embodiment fires the two barrels successively upon successive pulls of the trigger. The second embodiment fires the two barrels after a first trigger pull and a subsequent release of the trigger. Finally, a third embodiment fires the two barrels upon successive trigger releases, after the trigger has been pulled.
