  • Patent number: 5741153
Abstract: A designation strip for the rear portion of a communications outlet snaps onto an insulation displacement connector over the wire terminals therein and includes a designation label. The designation strip is attached via attachment flanges which cooperate with regularly-spaced attachment beads connected to the teeth of the insulation displacement connector. The designation strip includes side walls with respect to which the attachment flanges are aligned. During attachment, a side wall of the designation strip is engaged with an end wall of the insulation displacement connector thereby positively aligning the designation strip and the attachment flanges with respect to the insulation displacement connector and the attachment beads thereof. The side walls also serve to prevent the designation strip from becoming misaligned after attachment.

  • Patent number: 5564935
Abstract: A pair of left fulcrum axis pins and a pair of right fulcrum axis pins are provided on a female connector so as to project so that a first operation cam member having operation cam grooves over the pair of left fulcrum axis pins and a second operation cam member having operation cam grooves over the pair of right fulcrum axis pins are pivotally supported on the fulcrum axis pins so as to be rotatable and able to be operated in mutually interlocked state. Left and right engagement pins capable of being engaged with the operation cam grooves respectively are provided in a male connector so as to project. An operation lever is provided on at least one of the operation cam members so as to extend.

  • Patent number: 5562478
Abstract: A method of assembling a press-connecting joint connector which can be miniaturized by decreasing its longitudinal dimension with its mechanical strength maintained unchanged, and the structure of the joint connector. A press-connecting joint terminal 1 includes a connector body 2, and a cover 4 which is engaged with the connector body 2. Provided in the connector body 2 is a terminal 6 which is made up of a metal base 7 from the front and rear edges of which a plurality of press-connecting blades 8A and 8B extend. The terminal 6 is embedded in the connector body 2 in such a manner that its one end portion extends to a side surface of the connector body 2, thus serving as a metal piece 10. The cover 4 includes a locking arm 18 which is locked to the metal piece. When locked to the metal piece 10, the locking arm 18 becomes a part of the side wall 11 of the connector body 2.

  • Patent number: 5533914
Abstract: An electrical connection terminal includes a male terminal having a rod-like male contact portion, a tubular female terminal having a through hole for receiving the male contact portion, a resilient contact member of an annular shape which is retained in the through hole along an axis A, and can be brought into surface-to-surface contact with the male contact portion, and a conductor clamping portion and a covering clamping portion which are formed integrally with the female terminal at a rear end portion thereof through a retaining step portion, and extend in the axial direction. The resilient contact member is made of a material having a good electrical conductivity, and has an integral clamping piece which extends through the through hole in the retaining step portion to the conductor clamping portion. The covering clamping portion fixedly clamps a conductor covering, and the conductor clamping portion fixedly clamps a conductor and the clamping piece together.
