    Abstract: A computer program product, device, system, and method are provided for decommissioning a tape cartridge internally within a tape library. In one embodiment automated tape cartridge decommissioning operations internal within a tape library, include receiving selection of a tape cartridge for decommissioning in a tape library and, using a tape library robotic accessor, moving a selected tape cartridge to a decommission workstation within the tape library. The selected tape cartridge is mounted to the decommission workstation and a fusing element of the decommission workstation is activated to fuse together layers of magnetic tape of the selected tape cartridge mounted to the decommission workstation, so that the selected tape cartridge is decommissioned within the tape library to have a decommissioned status.

    Abstract: The present disclosure generally relate to spin-orbit torque (SOT) devices comprising a topological insulator (TI) modulation layer. The TI modulation layer comprises a plurality of bismuth or bismuth-rich composition modulation layers, a plurality of TI lamellae layers comprising BiSb having a (012) crystal orientation, and a plurality of texturing layers. The TI lamellae layers comprise dopants or clusters of atoms, the clusters of atoms comprising a carbide, a nitride, an oxide, or a composite ceramic material. The clusters of atoms are configured to have a grain boundary glass forming temperature of less than about 400° C. Doping the TI lamellae layers comprising BiSb having a (012) crystal orientation with clusters of atoms comprising a carbide, a nitride, an oxide, or a composite ceramic material enable the SOT MTJ device to operate at higher temperatures while inhibiting migration of Sb from the BiSb of the TI lamellae layers.

One or more layers are coupled below the LES such that the LES is disposed between the main pole and the one or more layers. The one or more layers exchange bias the LES such that the upper layer of the LES has a magnetization parallel to the magnetization of the trailing shield. The lower layer of the LES has a magnetization that is antiparallel to the magnetization of the upper layer of the LES. The one or more layers set the preferred direction for the lower layer of the LES and sets the LES as a two-domain state without relying upon the anisotropy field (Hk) of either the upper or lower layers of the LES.

One gasket seal is composed of a material having a low permeability to helium or another lighter-than-air gas contained within the HDD, and the other gasket seal is composed of material having a low water vapor or moisture transmission. By using two separate independent gaskets which have different attributes, the lighter-than-air gas concentration is kept high and humidity is kept low during manufacturing testing, prior to affixing a hermetic second cover over the first cover, and degradation of HDD performance due to change of flying height is ultimately avoided.
